It was my favorite device. I have since thrown it out the window. They apparently couldn't( wouldn't) fix the issue as the newer devices are not " expensive" enough to where someone can't just buy a new one. Oh well, on to Garmin.

yes this display problem is not acceptable. My Fitbit was my first watch and i liked the purity design. 4 years ago I changed to Garmin. Works fine with iOS Health sync. I reactivated my Fitbit to test, but now have the same problem with the dark display. The hardware quality is definetly not good enough in this price class.

I bought an Apple watch SE earlier this year. Works great with my Google Nest doorbell / camera. The watch gets a notification and an image when we have callers. It can also notify you when a parcel is delivered. You can also respond to the doorbell. It links to my iphone and if the phone is close enough, I can take and respond to calls via the watch. Only really negative point is it needs charging every 2 days.

Thanks for the info. Where am I supposed to swipe right exactly? I’ve looked through the app and I can’t find the display brightness.

I use mine sporadically, but the display was dim, so I went in to settings and it was set to "Normal" so I thought "OK, let me try to set it to "High" (assuming that was an option).... Well, I tapped it once, it went to "Auto" and now I can't see ANYTHING. This was a simple device that did what I needed, but now is useless. WELL DONE GOOGLE\FITBIT. You'll get my vote on product quality by how I spend for a replacement, which won't be a Google product.

Links with my Iphone: can use contactless pay, can take and answer phone calls, gets messages from my home security (Google nest doorbell camera and security camera) including an image in colour, beeps when I get messages. Asks if I'm okay if I appear to have a fall. Warns me if it thinks I'm subject to excessive noise, e.g., when using noisy DIY equipment.
It's brilliant but needs charging within 2 days.
And the 44mm for less than £250. I note price has now gone up.
