Hi there @mydlynne, welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂
I'm sorry to hear that your husband is having problems seeing the display on his Fitbit Charge HR.
Currently, there are no brightness settings to control on the Fitbit Charge HR, which means that you can not change the brightness. My only recommendation would be to try giving the tracker a quick restart.
For this, plug the charging cable to any USB port or UL-certified USB wall charger and plug the other end to your Charge HR. Press and hold the button for 10-12 seconds until you see the Fitbit icon and the version number and release the button.
Hope that this helps. If you need anything else, I'm always around!

Resetting my fit bit like suggested, reset it, but didn’t fix the display brightness. Am I just out of luck?

I’m having the same problem and have found that the reset didn’t work for me either 😞
I can barely see the display so it’s become unusable.

I bought two Fitbit HRs at the same time. My son’s has a nice bright display. The display on mine Has faded and can only be seen in a darkened room or at night.
Reset does not work!
Come on guys and gals at Fitbit, you can do better than this.

The last I heard at the beginning of Feb they were “aware of the issue and working on a fix”.
I’ve given up using mine - it’s useless if you can’t read the display 😞

I'm having the same issue. The display is so faint. Have you received any updates from Fitbit?

Same issue here. Does it mean it is dead?

For me it seemed to coincide with a recent update - any chance the next update will undo the damage from this one? If Fitbit think this encourages me to buy another of their products they don’t know much about psychology...

Same as all the other people on here. Fitbit, if you won't tell us why it happen, can you at least update us on an ETA to fix? Maybe a discount on a new product?
So far we had heard nothing..

Having same problem. My son has had a cheaper version for longer than me so I am seriously considering buying it unless Fitbit come up with a fast solution!!
