Fitbit Has white line and screen won't work

My Fitbit Charge HR 3 has a white line horizontally and it won't go away and I cannot see the screen.  I tried to unpair and pair it again, but the screen won't work to get the four digit pin.  I also tried a reset while charging.  The screen just is blank with the white line.

We also tried all the factory reset routes but no joy.  Fitbit support advised that it was not repairable.

Gave it to our 3 year old grandson who looked at it, shook it from side to side a couple of times then ran his finger along the white line from left to right, then pressed the button and the screen sprang back into life!

Not saying this is a permanent fix, but it's still working now!

I must be getting old if 3 year olds can fix tech!!
