Fitbit app not recording heartrate during recorded walk

I recorded a walk this morning using the fitbit app on my iPhone 13.  I have a charge 3 fitbit.  The app recorded my steps, mapped the walk and recorded a record of the calories used.  It does not display the heartrate during the walk.  I saw previous posts from 2019 with the same problem.  Back then they said it would record heartrate if the exercise was auto detected, but not if you purposely record the walk.  Has this been corrected in the app software?  If so, what is the fix?

Hello @masquernom and welcome to the Community.  No, this hasn't been fixed in the app and it quite likely won't get fixed.  For reference, that feature is known as MobileRun.  It is an older way of tracking with GPS, held over from a time when Fitbits didn't have an exercise app.  If you want a GPS map and a heart rate on one set of exercise details, then you need to use the Exercise app on your Charge 3 with the appropriate shortcut.

I was afraid it wasn't fixed after I read the 2019 posts.  So how do you " use the Exercise app on your Charge 3 with the appropriate shortcut " ?  I have no idea what you are indicating.

I read the responses you linked MegaBite.  So if I understand it correctly, I need to go to the exercise screen on the charge 3.  Select walk from the exercise selections and then select start.  At the end of the walk, stop the record from the charge 3 screen.  Will this then enable the map and heart rate data in the smart phone display app?
