Fitbit charge 2 battery won't last longer than 30mins

Hi there

So I've had my Fitbit Charge 2 for almost 2 years, a couple of days ago, it still had half the battery charge left, and just died. Since then, I've charged it to full power, and it literally only lasts 30mins or less. Up until a few days ago, it was still giving me about 4 days of use after a full charge.

Anyone else with this problem? Anything I can do about it?

Regards

Sorry to hear this, @Digzsta - Have you tried restarting your Charge 2?  Instructions are here. I would recommend doing this 3 times then charge the device then see if it helps. Please let us know.

Hi Carol

Thank you for the potential solution. I tried it, and it worked for about
two days, for the first time. However, subsequent to this, it has become
even worse. Now as soon as the battery is charged to full, even with a
reset, and once removed from the charging cable, it only lasts a few
minutes.

The battery is junk, sorry to hear.  Fitbit should know better as a corporation that they had a bad batch of batteries go out, and extend the warranty for this type of thing.

Well that's pretty disconcerting...

I honestly love the product, and I'm upgrading to the Charge 3, handing this one down to my cousin to enjoy it's use. Guess that's a bust.

What are the chances that the battery would actually cease to function literally 2 years to the day that I purchased it?

Is there any way to replace the battery? Are there any other options, other than chucking it away??

Yes, their are youtube videos on how to repair, need to be able to really carefully pop it apart, and solder a new one, if you know someone who is detail oriented, careful, and knows how to solder it's worth a try.  I reviewed the fitbit2, and it's a good product, but lol, why is the battery soldered in, that makes it throwaway when the battery should be recyclable.

🙄🙄🙄

I guess so you'd have to buy a new one...

I'll check out YouTube, see if there's anything I can do. I'll need to source a new battery though, if that's the case. It ain't like Fitbit's gonna help me out with that...
