Fitbit charge 2 not holding charge

I woke up in the middle of the night and my Fitbit was dead. I placed it on the charger and when I awoke the battery was full. The battery lasted about 1.5hrs before going completely dead again. No alarms, no guided breathing, no extreme exercise, etc. I placed it back on the charger and took it off when it was fully charged. I realized I wasn’t receiving text notifications, but went for a run anyway. It died about 20min into my run. What it going on with this?

@MichLB Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your Charge 2 battery life. Try cleaning the contacts using cotton with rubbing alcohol then charge it by plugging it for a couple of hours directly to your computer's usb port (try different ports) or use an UL listed usb wall adapter. After this, restart your device and see how it behaves. You can also find additional suggestions here.

Let me know how it goes.

Thank you.
I cleaned and reset as you suggested. I left on charger until fully charged, again died in middle of night while I was asleep. Placed on charger again this morning, Now the display will not work at all. I can see the battery is about 55% being off the charger for 1hr.
It will still vibrate if I get a text message, but again the display is blank.

I, too, am experiencing this problem also with my Charge 3 Fitbit. It began when I traveled out of the country (USA to Scotland). I've tried to recharge now 3x - dead hours after the charge.
