Fitbit charge 3 died and will not turn on

I have been using Fitbit charge 3 which my family gave to me as a present for around a year.

Since two days ago, it suddenly started to act weirdly, with the screen turning black or freezing. This happened numerous times and I reset it following the instructions. However, yesterday when I was working out, it just started vibrating like crazy (probably when I went over the goal for the # of steps) until it ran out of battery.

I recharged it again and it kept doing the same thing up to today, like 3 times?

When I tried to reboot it again it just died. Now it will not even vibrate nor would it turn on when I connect it to the charger. It got really hot so I just disconnected it from the charger. This was about half an hour ago and it is still unresponsive.

As a part time trainer and one who enjoys working out a lot it is a big letdown 😞

Is there a way to fix this...? I was searching around the forum but it seems people got their fitbit replaced or refunded. I do not think I can refund mine as it has been just over a year.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks!

Thank you for the reply.

Is twitter the only way to contact them?

I too, had this happen on my Charge 3 (which was a replacement for the first Charge 3). Fitbit told me to charge it again and to sync it often (every hour or so) enabling the tech people to see what was happening with the device. I did this periodically over the course of for days. Toward the end of the second day, the device would no longer charge. After talking to a supervisor at Fitbit, I was told my device was no longer under warranty because the warranty was from the date of the initial device. A rather strange warranty since the replacement was less than a year old. Doesn't say much about the reliability and longevity of the device!

Good luck with yours. Try recharging it and syncing it frequently over the course of 6 or so hours and then call Fitbit.

Yes, it seems Twitter is the only way to contact them. And they are really slow to respond right now.

Ok I had this exact issue. I tried the Twitter dm but no one got back to me. I also tried the restarting while charging technique and that didnt work. I had tried several charging wires, outlets and blocks and still nothing. My mom told me she had this issue before and the only thing that worked was plugging the charger into our laptop. I was pretty skeptical but I tried just to rule out that option. IT WORKED. Charge it through a computer, hold the sides to restart for like 8-10 seconds and then you should see the smiley face!

I plugged Fitbit into computer. I held the button for 8 seconds and the smiley face came and went. Still not on. It was at 62% battery when it died yesterday. Also, the vertical white stripes were still visible during the brief time it was “on.”
