My Charge 4 isn't measuring steps or sleep, but IS measuring calories, heart rate, etc. 

It was a gift that I just took out of the box and set up.  HELP please, thanks

Have you tried restarting your Charge 4? How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Dear @JuanFitbit ,

 

Why is it that so many Fitbit(users) need to restart their tracker? How can it be that this helps?

I never have to restart my coffeemachine (for instance) because it doesnt work like expected.

@Gerwin1 , Nice to see you around. As with almost every electronic device,( cell phones, tablets, TVs, PCs, etc) a restart helps to refresh the system and it's performance. 

I suggest you to have a look at this, to learn more how the Charge 4 recognizes your steps
