Fitbit mileage tracking too high

I’ve had a Fitbit Charge 2 for 2 or 3 years and really like but recently when I track my mileage while walking it is way off.  It has me walking a mile in 5,6 or 7 minutes.  It normally takes me 15 or 16 minutes to walk a mile. Also it will track the distance as being much farther than it actually is.  A distance I know to be about a mile will show 2 or 3 miles.  The numbers are all over the place but always too high and way off.  It still keeps up with my steps accurately.  I can walk 100 steps and it will count up 100 steps, give or take 2 or 3. Has anybody else had this issue.  I called Fitbit and they said I needed a new watch.  I think I should get more than 2 years out of a watch.

Have you tried to re-input your stride length.  And, turn off automatic stride calculation?
