Fitbit won't pair with my phone's bluetooth?

Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone has had an issue with their Charge 2 pairing and connecting to their phone's Bluetooth. My other devices that have Bluetooth connect to my phone, so I don't believe it is my phone however whenever I try to connect and pair my charge 2 with my phone, it says it cannot communicate with said device. I have tried shutting the app off, rebooting it, restarting the Bluetooth connection on both my phone and my fitbit, and still nothing.

Any suggestions? I tried connecting with the live chat, but that also is not working today.

Hello @DAIZE I'll assume that if the tracker won't pair with your phone that your also getting an error displayed. This error message would be vital to know if you would like an answer.

Is the error something like "rejected by the Charge 2?

I’m also having the same problem with pairing to my iPhone. It wasn’t syncing so I followed the steps of turning my phone off and on, closing the app, deleting the app and signing back in and restarting my HR2.  Then I turned my Bluetooth off and on, and it wouldn’t pair. Device not found. Then I used “forget this device” and now it can’t find it!  Ugh.

Are you using the app, not the Bluetooth settings?

@Lisa1026 I'm not sure if your trying to sync or setup the Charge 2?

I fixed it. I removed the device and then set it back up in the app.

I'm having the same problem.  I set up my new Charge 2 last night.    Today the Charge won't sync with my phone and it won't pair for notifications from my phone.  I have a Sony Xperia  Z5 Premium.  I have turned everything on and off, etc.  I bought this version so I could receive my notifications from my phone.  Very frustrated.  Any advice?

I have the Google pixel 2 XL and it's doing the same thing, not syncing with my phone. It hasn't syned since January 17. It also will not longer give me notification of text or incoming calls

How did you remove the device

I have just resolved this problem after weeks of keeping trying to pair from the notifications bit in the app. It was syncing fine it just wouldn’t show calls or messages even though my phone was right next to me. And this feature had been working fine for months beforehand, it had just stopped suddenly.  I went to my phones Bluetooth settings and removed the device. Then I went into the Fitbit app and clicked on notifications and it immediately came up with a message saying device wanting to pair. It paired straight away.

Didn’t work for me. Isn’t recognised by Bluetooth on phone and won’t sync on app. Tried switching off, reloading app, rebooting fitbit - everything.
What now?

@Ficbyour iPhone should pick up any Bluetooth devices that are nearby. Do you have other Bluetooth devices showing in your phone? (Just to check it’s not a problem with your Bluetooth, I’m assuming you’ve switched Bluetooth off and back on again). If you’ve got other devices and they’re working ok, and if when you go to your Fitbit app and click notifications, if it doesn’t ask you to connect with your iPhone then I can only suggest that it’s an issue with the Bluetooth in your Fitbit. I’m not sure if there’s a lifespan for Fitbit I’ve only had mine just over 1 year. Just thought about it and obv if your app updates then it’s not your Fitbit Bluetooth. Kinda puzzled.

Yeah!!!  thank you!  after multiple tries I finally got my fitbit to pair with my iphone.

1. From Bluetooth on phone - selected forget this device (my fitbit charge 2)

2. Opened Fitbit app on iphone / from selected Notifications - it started searching.. .then asked me to pair with my phone... YIPPEE!  THAT WAS IT!

THANKS SO MUCH!
