While I was waiting for fitbit chat to get back to me, and had tried all of this
https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2004.htm
I decided to do a factory hard reset:
For this my charge 3 was NOT linked to my phone since that was connected to my charge 4. Don't know if that matters.
Charger not connected to watch, on watch swipe to settings/about/"Clear user Data" and press that.
After that my charge 3 now discharges VERY slowly like it should.
Note, I normally shut off ALL notifications - saves battery, but just don't want to be bothered while I'm out. Just got this yesterday, mint, updated to 1.88.11 during install. Battery was 0 before so don't know if 1.88.11 actually caused problem but it drained from 100 to 0 in about 7 hours, half of which was in sleep mode. On a test drain it did it again. I tried other resets but they did nothing. Phone is android Moto X4 One fi on Aug 1 security update Pie stock. Hopefully this will help a few of you out there!
