As he title says my friends have disappeared from my dashboard tile, I can see them when I click on the tile but it used to update telling how steps they had done so we could compete with each other.

Anyone know why this has happened or how to get them back?

This is an ongoing bug that fitbit are aware of and are investigating. Keep an eye on the following thread for their latest updates on progress:
