My fitbit charge 2 has been working fantastically until saturday when all of a sudden the screen froze while I was asleep. The green lights were still flashing but whenever I clicked the button or tapped the screen the same frozen image showed up of the time/date and my steps etc. I tried to reset it however this didnt work, so I unpaired it from my phone in hopes that might kickstart it, however that didnt work either. I have let the battery drain and when I plugged it into the charge it just showed up with the same screen again, it didnt even show the battery charging symbol. I tried to reset it again and it still didnt work. Now the green lights have stopped flashing all together and tapping the screen no longer works, the only thing that activates the screen is the button on the side. I'm not sure what else to do?

I have exactly the same thing happen as the original poster. The reset method doesn't work - the charge bar doesn't display when I plug it in and then when I press and hold the buttons it sticks on the same frozen screen.
Any further ideas?

Yeppers that is exactly what happen to mine after I tried their reset method and it has been sitting like that for about three weeks now. I was told I am out of luck and to buy another one because I have had it over a year and the warranty expired. But I will not buy another fit product, because I am sorry but I paid over a 100 bucks for that fit charger and I expect to last longer than my 40.00 dollar toaster with or without a warranty. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

You can look up when you first registered it with fitbit, and they can look it up as well. Mine was two Christmas ago, so about a year and half. Good Luck

Dear, You were lucky that the problem happened during the warranty period. Hope your device never fails again. Mine failed after the warranty expired so I didnt get a replacement.

I have the same problem. I’ve tried everything suggested. I finally called Fitbit and they informed that I was 3 weeks past warranty and they’d gladly give me 25% off. Problem is, I purchased on Poshmark new! It was BRAND NEW in a sealed box and I wore it for 3 months. They didn’t care that it was never used before, they only cared about the purchase date. So lame! I’m so disappointed and have used gotbit products for 3 years now. I may time to try a new product. So disappointed!

@Stovie1122 sorry to hear that Support didn't replace your device. They are following the Fitbit warranty that states the warranty period starts from the date of purchase. Still they offer a discount to help customers who may be outside the warranty period.

I am having the same issue. My Charge 2 froze last night while I was sleeping. It’s still I on June 8 at 10:45pm. I tried resetting it and it didn’t work. It is still tracking my movements and sleep but the face is frozen and I cannot see the correct date or time. Please help.

My Fitbit HR is stuck at 00:15 this morning - I have tried the 10-12 second ...... solution but still stuck.
The connectivity to my phone is working and activity still updating to my phone .... Help please !?

I have the exact same issue.
I am afraid my fitbit charge 2 is out of support since February 2019.
I am hesitant to buy a new fitbit Charge.

My charge 2 screen froze on June 17 at 6:32 pm. Phone app still tracks everything but the Fitbit itself is useless for checking things on the fly or even to tell time. I have done the reset instructions multiple times with no joy. Unit is out of warranty. Can anyone give another potential solution?

I COMPLETELY AGREE! I am ONE MONTH out of the warranty period and they gave me a 25% off coupon. Why would I ever by your product again if it will only last me a year after I paid $150+ for your product?! They lost a customer for life.

My fitbit just froze last night (Sun 6/30/19), but the phone app appears to still be recording steps as of this morning. This unit is actually a warranty replacement from my original Charge 2, though not sure if the warranty period resets with a replacement unit.
Guess I'll contact support to see where this issue stands...
