GPS distance is inaccurate

Tracking exercise using GPS, it has recently become 100% out. For example a 6km walk, which I have measured with other devices and on the map, is being recorded as over 11km. This is happening all the time now. I have measured it using other GPS apps and got the right result so it isn't the GPS on my phone.

@WiganKebab Welcome! It's great to see you around!

Let me help you with your GPS distance calculation on your Fitbit app. Lets start by refreshing the link between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.

I followed the instructions below and then did a walk that I know well and thought was around 8kms. Memory Map Software logged this as 7.75kms which looking at the average walking speed of 6kms/hr seems right as that is generally my walking pace. If you look at the Fitbit screenshot attached the top of the screen shows 11.37kms while the map shows 8.75kms both over the actual distance?Screenshot_20200217-144200_Fitbit.jpg
