GPS won’t stay off

Since the app upgrade, I’m constantly being notified on my Charge 4  that the GPS can’t connect.  How do I get these obnoxious notifications to stop? Evidently having GLONASS OFF in the settings on the device is insufficient. I turned the GPS feature off the day I got it. Steps, auto recognize exercise & low battery are the only notifications that are turned on.
