@Dianeparko, so sorry to hear about it... have you tried long restart?

Long restart steps:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

If it doesn't work, please contact Customer Service for further options!

Thank you. I tried to re-start it a few times last night but still got the lines. It kept loosing charge very quickly then was vibrating for ages and went really hot. So left it overnight, trying to charge it now, black screen, no vibrating but red hot again at the back .... not sure what to do, looks like it’s died it’s death .....

I am having the same issue. I have only had my charge 3 since November.  Prior to this issue, my Fitbit had been crashing  I also have gotten error messages.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @TMLsouthern! I'd recommend to restart your Charge 3 by following these steps:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  4. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 8 seconds. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

What are the error messages you've been receiving? Are you still getting them?

Let me know if the restart solves the issue with the grey lines on the screen.

I'll be around, catch you later!

I’m also experiencing this issue. I noticed the lines this morning at work and tried restarting it but the grey lines are still there. I’ve only had it since November.

I have been having the same problem since yesterday.  I have restart, rebooted and changed my clock face, but the lines remain.  Is there something else I should do?  As the previous Charge 3 owners I purchased my Charge 3 last fall; November.  This is truly frustrating.

Hi there...I’m having the same issues with the grey lines. Also bought my Charge 3 in November. 😕 Strange. I tried the hard reset (docking & holding button for 8-10 seconds), but they’re still there. Anyone have any luck for fixing them?!

Unfortunately if the grey lines haven’t gone away after changing the clock face and performing a reset and long reset that means your tracker is most likely defective. I had to speak with someone at Fitbit and opened a case, after they checked to see that I performed the resets they sent me a new tracker (not a band, just the defective piece).

I have the same issue with my Fitbit charge 3, bought for me in January.   I have tried changing the clock face, rebooting, and restarting it as per all the advice on this board.  Nothing has made any difference.  Has anybody found another solution?
