I have had a half filled bar in my charge hr and its driving me mad!! I've rebooted my tracker at least 20 times. Reinstalled the app many times as well and tried unpairing the device as well. But the bar keeps coming back. My tracker also shows the wrong time, when the bar briefly goes. I've had this since Wednesday and I obviously can't sync. I've had my Fitbit since august last year. I'd be grateful for any other advice

After a few back and forth emails to customer service, they replaced my Fitbit. I have to say customer service were excellent. They did give me advice on how to fix it, but these didn't work.

I had the same problem. I then noticed that the band on the charge HR had a little separation. I pushed it together applied super glue to hold it together it now works.

Hi,
happened to me today: Stuck in half bar after trying to update to the new firmware from my phone. Reset didn't help.
I connected the tracker to the USB port of my Mac and downloaded the Fitbit app for Mac. It was able to find the tracker over USB (not Bluetooth) then proceeded to install the update. After a few minutes, the update went through and now my tracker works fine.
If anyone else is stuck in half bar mode, try connecting the tracker to your computer over USB and use the fitbit application for your computer, _not_ the phone to update.
Hope this helps,
Constantin

I just had this happen to me today while applying an update to my Charge HR through the iPhone app. Update progress bar made it half way then stopped and would not respond to any input from the button. Ultimately I got it to finish the update by going into my Bluetooth settings on the iPhone and telling it to Forget the Device. I know, it doesn't make any sense but as soon as I did that the update bar started moving again and finished the install. Hope this helps somebody else!

I tried all the fixes identified via forums, none of which worked. I then contact customer service, tried one of their fixes, which didn't work, tried to do a factory reset - fitbit would not even reset. I was then told that my fitbit is out of warranty and was offered a 25% discount on a new tracker. Given that this half bar of death problem seems to span several years I do not trust than any new model will not have the same design problem. I would suggest buying a different brand as I will be.

How did you do that using USB don't you need a wireless dongle thing?
