I am wondering if Fitbit have stopped caring about the Fitbit Charge 4.
After 14 months of ownership the strap has broken, unlike other watches I own where the strap lasts over 10 years. I went to the Fitbit Store on Amazon (I'm using the UK site) and there are no items at all for the Charge 4, it may as well have never been launched. So I then visited the Fitbit main site shop and the only large size strap is in the dark red colour. My one is black, but I will have to put-up with a mismatched colour.
So this is why I have come to the conclusion that the Charge 4 is past-it in Fitbit's mind and therefore it must be a logical conclusion that the customer is likewise unimportant.
I would be really quite pleased to have someone disabuse me of this suspicion and just tell me I have been unlucky.

'Out of love' is probably the best term for it... The latest in the line of the 'Charge' trackers, the Charge 5, came out in August of last year, hence the Charge 4 is basically 'old' tech (I still love mine and won't be changing it for anything else until it dies). It IS a bit sad, really because there are a heck of a lot of folks who still have, and love, their Charge 4's.
I had a similar experience to you... my original strap (I got the rosewood colour tracker) broke in Spring of last year and I was able to get a like for like Fitbit original strap via Amazon UK. That new strap ended up also being worse for wear sometime in November/December and I went to get a replacement from the Amazon UK Fitbit store and could only get the costly leather one. Jumping onto the actual Fitbit store gave me the same single option. What I ended up doing was buying a 'third party'/non-official Fitbit replacement strap from Amazon UK. Perfectly acceptable replacement, but... yes..... I'd have hoped that there would still be an appetite for Fitbit to still manufacture and peddle accessories for the Charge 4, but it unfortunately seems to be the case that with the coming of the Charge 5, the Charge 4 would now appear to be an outcast child.
Wouldn't be so bad it the Charge 5 straps were compatible with the Charge 4, but they're not... I did read somewhere along the line that the strap mount assembly on the 5 is totally different to that of the 4..... so no mix and match capability exists 😢

Totally out of the blue, my Charge 4 had a firmware update and FitBit have rolled-out the atrial fribulation monitoring as well.
I may just have spoken too soon. However the spare parts and accessories situation is still disappointing.
