Was working fine but now when recording a run using exercise with GPS the charge 2 hear rate is not included. Had the recent firmware update. It does record the heart rate when auto recognising walks.

Hi, I have similar problems.
My charge 2 ( about 14 months old), set to auto synch with the App. On some part of the App, it registers the BPM, however, in the GPS tracking run, the final result page does not register the bpm, this happened about 2 weeks ago. Before that, it captures the bpm, pace, minutes run, distance, etc. Now, only the bpm is missing. this is important to me, as i join a club, which monitors all the parameters and without bpm, one key factor is lost and discounted by the club.
Also I tried the isntructions to restart my charge 2, .. go to clock face, swipe to setting, and reboot, but i cannot get to the 'settings' screen on the charge 2 !! How do i get it to show, so i can reboot.

After the recent firmware update one of the LED at back has stopped blinking and now it’s not recording the heartbeat.

I've discovered how to fix this problem. The functionality no longer works the same with the latest firmware. If you start your exercise from the the app (which is what I've always done to get heart rate and GPS mapping) it won't record heart rate now. However, if you open the app first, and then start the exercise session from the Charge 2, it will record heart rate and GPS mapping.
When you start the exercise from the Charge 2, you will now notice a phone symbol at the top of the screen. When starting, the phone symbol will show little lines zipping back and forth. I assume this represents the Charge 2 trying to connect to the phone app. When you have success, the lines go away, and you're good to go. If it fails (the app is closed or not paired with the Fitbit) it will put up a banner that says "check fitbit app." If you dismiss the banner (push the button) you will see a phone symbol at the top of the screen with a slash through it indicating that it isn't talking to the app. This means you won't get any GPS data recorded with the exercise session. Hope this helps.
