Heart rate not working on my Charge 2

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Today I noticed my Charge 2 not showing heart rate, only shows two lines (--). Immediately went to tracker user guide, troubleshooting guide to try to fix the problem but so far no luck. In reviewing my heart rate history, I see that the last time it worked in reading my heart rate was on March 8. I have tried restarting, changing heart rate settings (off, on, auto), re syncing, and nothing has worked. Previously I owned a Charge HR but broke and I replaced with Charge 2 thinking it would be a nice upgrade with new/improved features, don't want to regret making the purchase. I've only had it for about 2 weeks. Please help!

I'm thinking of doing that... I purchased mine at Target in 10/2016.  .   Less than two years and there's defects?

Shame, because I really wanted to get another Fitbit device.     But less than 2 years is inexcusable, especially since it has no moving parts.

My Charge 2 is 22 months old and the Heart Rate monitor stopped working this week. I called Fitbit support and after verifying the troubleshooting they offered a free replacement of the Charge 2 or 50% off another Fitbit (excluding Charge 3 and Versa). I am based in the UK and had previously had an issue with the Heart Rate monitor that I called customer service for which was resolved by a reset, I'm not sure if this influenced the offer of a replacement. I'm  pretty happy with the service from FitBit as they don't need the faulty unit returned. Replacement will take a week to arrive 👍🏽

I would have been completely satisfied had Fitbit offered me the same options. They did not.

My experience with the Charge 2 Heart Rate monitor is it does not work.  I can be riding all out on a Stationary Bike and my heart rate will be recording in the 65 to 73 BPM range.  The rate monitor will drop out from time to time and come back either reading low, mid range or high and then drop out again.  It is inconsistent at best.  I checked it against the stationary bike heart monitor and my Charge 2 has been as much at 40 BPM lower.  The only solution offered by the service department was to purchase another Fit Bit because my Charge 2 is two months out of Warranty.

Was your Fitbit still under warranty?

So far so good. 26 dollars. The ap is not as nice and it does not sync
with anything, like my fitness pal. Otherwise I am okay with it.

Did you get a response when you called.  Mine is doing the same thing...

I got an apology and $50 off my next purchase of limited items. I took mine back to Costco where I purchased it and they gave me full refund. They stand behind the products they sell, even if the manufacturer doesn’t.

I've had my Charge2 for 2 years.  No problems until heart rate stopped working a few weeks ago.

Tried everything on the support page: 3 resets, off/auto, etc.

Resetting worked for about a week, then the heart rate stopped responding again and resetting no longer had any effect.

I did get it working again.

The problems started when I turned on "Always Connected" and "Keep-Alive Widget" in the app.  Heart rate started working again when I turned them off.

I believe the issue is the device does not have enough memory to run all the supported processes simultaneously.   Turn off what you don't need so it can support primary functions.

Where do you turn off these items?  Is it in "All-day Sync"?

What brand did you buy that is better?  I will give Fitbit a chance to honor their product but if not I will buy elsewhere!!

Hi, I researched and found that for the price Fitbit was (at the time) the only device that had all the features I wanted. I got another one and almost a year later the screen stopped working. This time I was in warranty so they offered to replace the same model or give me half off of a newer device. I decided to take a gamble on the charge 3. I hate to reward a company whose customer service is not great, but I really do like the charge 3 and I’ve accumulated a lot of data on the app.

I found the solution for me. It’s a question of Bluetooth pairing.

Hit the watch to go into settings, Kobe was at top left on iOS. Then hit notifications. I got a message that said I needed to pair Bluetooth. This is of course disconcerting because I assure you, they’re all ready paired (phone and watch).

After allowing the settings to pair up, this fixed the issue. Instead of “- -“ I now show an active heart rate.

It’s sad that nobody at Fitbit knows this. Hope me that helps!!

Seeing a similar distortion in (it might be a processor?) mine. Also heart rate issues. Either blank or much to high
