Heart rate on Charge 3 is too high

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My charge 3 has worked perfectly up to about a month ago. Now it’s heart rate is completely out of whack. I’ll be sitting still and it will claim my heart rate is anywhere between 125 and 160. If I walk about five feet suddenly my heart rate is 156+. As of right now, sitting still, it’s saying my heart rate is 160. I woke up about 20 minutes ago and haven’t moved very much at all. I can’t figure out how to recalibrate my charge 3 and I’m wearing it properly. How do I fix this?

Hello @Julia20. Welcome to the community forums!

Thank you for the detailed information and for any steps you've followed prior to posting. At this time, I'd like to let you know that your heart rate can be affected by several factors such as stress, alcohol or caffeine intake, or fever usually raise resting heart rate, while regular exercise or meditation can lower it. Air temperature and certain medications can also affect resting heart rate.

For additional tips about how to improve the accuracy of your heart rate, I recommend visiting this help article: How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device?

If that doesn't help, I recommend performing a restart to your Charge 3. You can perform the restart by following the instructions here. If you don't see any change, try to perform a long restart which is different than the basic one and you can complete this process by following the steps below:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.
