Hourly activity not credited

I have been receiving my hourly activity alerts at 10 minutes before the hour. If I walk until the Fitbit buzzes and tells me I "nailed it", when I synch my Fitbit with the app, it doesn't giving me credit for reaching my goal a little more than half the time. Today, it's showing 2 of 5 goals reached, when I actually was notified I had achieved 4 of 5.

It's nice to see you around the forums @KnitManiacSmiley Very Happy I'd recommend doing the following:

  • On the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Hourly Activity tile
  • Tap the gear icon and turn Reminders to Move OFF
  • Log out of your Fitbit app
  • Force quit the app
  • Restart your tracker 3 times in a row
  • Turn off the Bluetooth
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes
  • Turn on the Bluetooth
  • Log back into your Fitbit app
  • Tap the gear icon and turn Reminders to Move ON

If this doesn't work, I'm afraid to say that some users are experiencing the same situation that yours. Where the Hourly Activity on device doesn't match dashboard or site. However, our engineers are aware of the problem and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Hope the steps work!

This did not work for me! I think I will endeavor not to leave my 250 steps to the last second!

Some people have said the magic number is 350 steps.

“Our engineers are working on it” has been their excuse for over a year.  What a load of crap.

Doesn’t work.  Fitbit.com is down (so instructions are useless).

WTF?  Phone app says Fitbit.com is down.  Just logged in with PC.

Are you people insane?

Sorry I'm not sure which of the Fitbit users that are insane.

My guess is the app was unable to connect to the Fitbit server, while the web page was able to connect to the web server, which is a different server

Fitbit “excusers” (staff) are insane for using the “we’re working on it” excuse for the last 18+ months. Not users.

My message was intended for Fitbit staff, not the users.  Saying “we’re working on it” for the past 18+ months, and thinking users will accept that, is insulting.  Or get better engineers (and better PR people).

Maybe their engineers did work on it because I'm not seeing this issue any
more. My hourly activity is now credited within a minute or two of
completing my steps for the hour after the sync is complete.

Mine isn’t, so the problem is not solved for everyone. The engineers are not finished. Maybe 99% is close enough for them.

Had to tighten my band and only then did it start tracking my activity...lost nearly 45 mins of activity

My problem isn’t the tracker, which correctly records my hourly activity. The problem is that the app occasionally doesn’t sync correctly, and I lose an hour.

My Charge 2 has not properly credited my hourly activity for the past two days. I followed the solution you  suggested here (from Oct 2017), and it didn’t work. Are there any better solutions now?

Best Answer

Welcome to the community @CathyGM, are your Charge 2 never gets the active hours correct? Or is the active hours correct on the Charge 2 but does not show up correctly on fitbit.com or the App?

People seem to be saying that their tracker is correct but the dashboard is wrong.

Please read the solution above.

My Charge 2 is correct but the dashboard is wrong.

I DID try the solution listed, but it didn’t work.
