I am confused by how calories are being calculated. I did more steps/miles today than yesterday but burned less calories.

Today

Steps: 15,500

Floors: 74

Miles: 7.72

Cals: 2,891

Zone: 41 minutes

Yesterday:

Steps: 11,500

Floors: 80

Miles: 5.62

Cals: 3,017

Zone: 19 minutes

Calories are based on heart rate.  Steps and floors are a factor only in that they tend to raise your heart rate.

For example, sprinting 1000 steps might burn more calories that a leisurely stroll of 2000 steps.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Yes but it says my heart rate was in the zone 40x and the day before was only 19x
