Update: when I contacted Fitbit, they sent me a new charge 3, no quibbles. Full marks for customer service I’d say!

I have had the same issue with charge 2. I went to the settings and clicked on brightness on and now I can not see the screen now to adjust or see anything. Please help me any suggestions.
Thank you

Only if its under warranty. Other than that they will only send you a 35% discount on a new one. They are not a great company. I refuse to buy another product from them if they can’t even give us a proper fix for our current ones we own. That’s just a reward for exceptionally terrible customer service.

They didn’t ask me for any receipt or proof of purchase. I had said it was a Christmas present (which it was) and I’d had it for over a year. I received a new replacement without even asking. I have no complaints about customer service. However, I have recently noticed that this one is now having the same problem ie I can’t read the screen outside on a sunny day as the screen gets dims down. Annoying.

If I could read the display, I wouldn’t be looking it up on this forum

TO CHANGE BRIGHTNESS , EVEN IF DIM !
Swipe the screen 4 times to the left .
You may see Settings at the top :
Press the Settings on the top half of the screen once. .
Then tap the screen at the top which changes to 3 modes of Brightness :
Normal ,
Auto
Dim
press the side button twice once you get the setting for you.

A bright screen can suck a lot of energy out of a touchscreen Fitbit (such as a Versa, Charge 3, or Ionic). On your device's screen, swipe left until you find “Settings.” Select that. Scroll to “Brightness.” Tap that button to cycle through brightness levels.

This is a "chicken or the egg" problem. I know how to change the settings on the Charge 3. But how can I change the settings if the Charge 3 screen if it is too dim to see the screen? I've tried to resetting by changing the clock face and by connecting it to the charger for 8 seconds - no luck. I couldn't find a way to adjust the settings on the app. Is there way to change the settings on the app? If so, how?

watch the video on YouTube for this issue .
when you are swiping sideways you need to count it carefully so you are on the correct selected menu ( even if it’s too dim to see ) , when you then tap the screen it only has 3 adjustments , Dim , Bright and Auto .
I’ve now got a Fitbit charge 5 but there seems to still be this issue with Fitbit Charge 3 .
