How do I edit the distance on Charge 3 activities?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I would like to see the ability to edit distance, as it related to walks, biking, and spinning.  While the Charge 3 collects and reports distance on all. except spinning, the distance is not accurate when compared to other tracking devices.  The Charge 2 allowed this editing.  As for spinning, it is understandable why spinning cannot track distance, but the user knows how far they have gone and should be able to enter it.  Runners may like this feature as well.

Hi there @JayFB2, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided, I'll be glad to help you.

Please note that auto-detected exercises and exercises you start through the Fitbit can't be edited, only the ones you manually log in. With that said, I would like to suggest you to check the following article in how your stride length influence in the distance of your exercises and how you can edit it to improve the accuracy on them:
Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?

If you manually logged your run or any other activity, I'd recommend taking a look at: How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?

If those steps don't let you to edit your activity, I would like to suggest you to force-quit the app, then open it again and edit your exercise. If you're still having trouble or if you're unable to edit the exercise, please reply to us with a screenshot of what you're able to see, this will be very helpful for us to check this further. To find instructions about attaching a photo into your post, click here.

I'll be around, keep me posted.

Thank you for your reply.

I know I can manually enter an exercise and enter the distance as you pointed out below.  I've done that.  What I am asking, is that you good folks look at changing the programs such that the program WOULD allow you to edit/enter the correct/applicable distance when you select the walking, running, biking, and spinning exercises.  It would be an enhancement to your design.  I have also changed my stride length (in both the Charge 2 and Charge 3) but it is trial and error to get it close.  Just saying that if the device is working off GPS, then the distance should always be correct, regardless of stride length.  Stride length should only affect the number of steps.

I see that I can edit (have pencil icon) with auto-detected activities.  How can I edit a manually entered activity; for example, change the distance of a walk from 5 miles to 2.5 miles.

Thank you
