While I am golfing or hiking, these notifications keep alternating, these are not helpful and I would like to shut them off. They are a distraction. There are too many notifications on the watch, what use to be useful (incoming phone call, reaching 10,000 steps, battery running down) has now become a nuisance. Fitbit is trying to do too much.
In short the notification section needs to be able to chose any notification and shut it off.

Is there anyway to turn off heart rate notifications for yoga? I see where other exercises have the option to toggle it on and off under the individual exercise but can’t find any way to turn it off for yoga.

Hello guys, I hope you are doing fine.
I appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix this turning off issue and the attachment. Please take a look at the following chart which will provide you steps on how you can turn off the heart rate zones notifications:
Heart zone alerts during an exercise in the Exercise app
|
Turn off alerts for run, bike, outdoor workout, walk, interval timer, and hike in the Exercise app:
|
Heart zone alerts you receive during everyday activity. | On your Charge 4, open the Settings app, swipe down and tap Heart Zone Alerts. |
Receive heart zone alerts during an exercise in the Exercise app but turn off other notifications | On your Charge 4, open the Settings app > Do Not Disturb > Exercise alerts. |
Let me know how it goes.

Managed to fix everything, got a TICKERfit, soooo much better at 1/2 the price.
Very accurate HR, no need to try to look at the tiny watch screen to see HR, real time viewable on the phone.

The heart rate fix from the moderator @AlejandraFitbit posted July 2 does not work with new firmware version 48.20001.96.29.

I just wanted to share here that there was a Charge 4 firmware update that was released a couple days ago that fixed this for me. After updating and turning off the heart rate zone notification option in the global settings section, the setting that is specific to the exercise (ie: Walking) became disabled for changes, and directs you to look at the global setting which overrides it. But most importantly, the notifications are actually turned off. So, it looks like they fixed it. I was very pleasantly surprised. 😀

When I swipe up on the arrow, Heart Rate Zones isn’t an option. There is only GPS (or run detect, autopause depending on the exercise). Every time I’m in the middle of an exercise I think the watch vibrating is it telling me it lost GPS connection. Which is annoying because there are so many issues with the GPS as it is...
Also there is no Heart Rate Zone in my settings. I have the latest update, and it is not there.
ALSO I do not want to turn off all notifications via Do Not Disturb when I’m running. I don’t see why I need to do that just to get it to stop buzzing when it thinks my heart rate is high enough to justify my exercise.
It’s almost like this device was rushed through production without any testing. I regret this purchase.
(P.S., I know it says I’m a “jogger” or whatever (ouch), but I’ve been using fitbit for years. I recently upgraded to the Charge 4 from the 3 solely for the built in GPS even though my 3 was a year old and in like new working conditions. I upgraded because the 3 stopped connecting to my phone’s GPS unless I had the app open, even though it worked fine without the app open for 10 months. This hassle isn’t worth not having to pull my phone out of my Koala Clip to end a run on MapMyRun. Oh, and not to mention the money spent on a fitbit premium subscription to even have access to all the features.)

get yourself a Tickerfit, it actually tells you what zone you are in, not just a buzz, if you can actually get that to work on the Fitbit 😞
Once into top end of Zone 5 it tells you "your heart is about to explode"...

Did you ever get the heart rate monitor to toggle on or off on your Charge 4? If I don’t get mine to work I’m just going back to my Charge 3.

I have figured out how to do this. The Heart Zone Notification On/Off option is NOT in the app and it is NOT in the main settings of the Fitbit.
They have put this option in to the individual exercise settings within the fitbit. So if you want to go for a run and don't want the device buzzing every few minutes (which is really irritating) you just bring up the Run option on the fitbit and then scroll down until you see the option to turn off Zone notifications.
You can turn it off on spinning too etc.
Fair enough I suppose as you might want the option on in some exercises.
Cheers.

Alexandra, I know this is almost a year old, but I REALLY! want to turn off ALL buzzing, beeping, tickling from this device. It's totally distracting while I'm on a walk and the screen isn't visible during daylight. SO please clarify something: When you say open the Settings app, 1) is this on my phone under Settings/Fitbit, or is it on the actual wearable device? 2) I can't find Heart Zone Alerts in the Fitbit app OR on the wearable device. I have DND on ALL THE TIME and I still get alerts. 3) I just turned off Settings/Health/Notifications on my phone OUTSIDE of the Fitbit app. Will this fix it?
Thanks so much,
Rachel

I was actually trying to figure out how to turn the alerts on & going to the exercise app and selecting the settings button let me change it. Thank you so much!! It’s so much better then having to check it constantly to make sure I’m in the right zone.

Here's what finally worked for me: realizing that there's "settings" on the charge 4 AS WELL AS in the app! I was trying to set "sleep" and for some reason all these other icons showed up. BUT one of them was settings! Don't know if I'll ever be able to find it again if I need to, but I guess I'll worry about that when it happens.

I have the same problem. The settings item simply disappeared with the recent update. Getting notifications now during workouts - very annoying.

I did that and what I got is that the display of my heart frequency disapears from my clock face...
