How do I turn off notifications on my Charge 3?

When I go to the Fitbit settings and press on “Notifications” on my iPhone it will not open. I want to turn the vibration off for text messaging while I’m sleeping.

Is your phone an iPhone 12 by any chance? Fitbit isn’t compatible with iPhone 12 and I can’t open my notifications in settings. I spent hours trying to set it up last week till I eventually searched the forums.

Hello @buzzsawyer, @Eg1964, welcome to the community forums!

The Fitbit App was optimized to work on any mobile device that meets the requirements listed in this link@buzzsawyer, Note that you can turn off certain notifications in the Fitbit app, or turn off all notifications in the quick settings on Charge 3. When you turn off all notifications, your tracker won't vibrate and the screen won't turn on when your phone receives a notification.

To turn off certain notifications:

1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app on your phone, tap your profile
picture > Charge 3 tile > Notifications.
2. Turn off the notifications you no longer want to receive on your tracker.
3. Sync your tracker to save your changes.

To turn off all notifications:

1. Press and hold the button on your tracker and swipe left to reach the quick settings screen (on Fitbit Pay-enabled trackers).
2. Tap DND to turn on do not disturb. The DND icon dims to indicate that all notifications, including goal celebrations and reminders to move, are turned off.

Note that if you use the do not disturb setting on your phone, you don't receive notifications on your tracker until you turn off this setting.

Hope this helps!

Did this numerous times ( 3 hrs I tried to fix it) I actually wanted notifications. I got quite excited when I saw there was an update. But after the fiasco of nothing working yesterday, I again went through all above steps and when it comes to notifications I don’t get the menu to allow messages from WhatsApp texts messenger etc. I press the button and nothing happens. Whereas my husband with iPhone X gets a menu appearing.
I really do think moderators should , rather than regurgitate the normal bog standard answer should be informed that currently Fitbit and iPhone 12 are not compatible

@Eg1964, thank you very much for your feedback and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried!

As mentioned on the post above, if the iPhone 12 meets the requirements listed here, it should work with the Fitbit App and all its features. Otherwise, it may encounter any inconvenience related with syncing or in this case, with notifications.

If you confirmed that your phone doesn't meet the requirements listed there, I appreciate your patience and I hope it can be compatible soon.  Our team continues working hard based on our members feedback and yours is definitely very appreciated!

For more information about notifications, you can review our help article: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?

My patience is wearing thin. I have the latest version of the OS 14.4. Phone is iPhone 12 Pro.-  Which isn’t mentioned in the list of phones that are incompatible. Updated the Fitbit app this morning. All of my apps are set up as allowing notifications. I click the notification in the Fitbit app and nothing happens. I don’t get to the screen where I can allow eg WhatsApp texts messenger to send me notifications to my wrist.

it’s getting to the point where I’ll be swapping to an Apple friendly tracker as soon as I can afford it even though I’ve been with Fitbit for many many years. 10-15 years !

@Eg1964, thanks for your reply!

I'm very sorry for the experience! I was investigating this inconvenience and there seems to be an issue affecting Notifications which make them to not appear. (Whatsapp, Calendar/Gmail) The recommendation is to test receiving a notification from another app (besides Whatsapp) and if the inconvenience persists, my best recommendation is to contact our Support Team. This is because I’ve reached the limits of what I can do for you here on the public community forums.

You can contact our Support Team by clicking here. Make sure to explain the situation and the troubleshooting steps you've followed so they can continue assisting you and guide you to the process to resolve this.

On a side note, based on the information you mentioned, your phone is compatible since it counts with the OS required, which is 12.2 or higher.

See you around.

Hi. I contacted support and they told me to completely delete the Fitbit app from my iPhone and reinstall it. That fixed the problem.
Maybe it’s something all moderators should be made aware of
