How to block all fitness notifications

Hi! Loving the watch, but annoyed by the constant notifications--they're really distracting. 250 steps to go! Fireworks and a bird for some reason! Sometimes just randomly buzzes but thing seems to be happening...

I'd like notifications for the following:

An alarm I have set goes off

I receive a message in FB Messenger

I receive a call

I receive an SMS

That's it. I've tried to quash as many as I can, but it's taken lots of investigation of the watch/app and I still get some annoying ones. Is there a master guide or something for killing notifications? It seems that each notification is its own setting somewhere, and I don't know what half of my notifications mean.

I have the same wish and complaint that Telz has.

I don't want reminders or celebrations coming over my watch. It's irritating and can be a dangerous distraction, extra wear and tear on device, and drains the battery excessively. I'll be out walking and frequently my watch starts vibrating so I stop and look at it to see if I have an urgent call or message; instead it is stuff that is superfluous distractions to me: reminders, celebrations, etc. It's superfluously interrupting my exercise which could be a dangerous distraction and result in being a traffic hazard.

I only want the device to vibrate when I get a phone call, text or email.

This morning I got a disco ball and the number 12 while I was combing my hair!

No idea what it means, definitely don't want it.

Hi Juan, thanks!

I have followed the steps for turning off the reminders to move, yes. It took a little digging but I've quashed those ones.

The two types that remain plaguing me are:

1: Random buzzes but nothing on screen. Not alarms, just buzzes once or twice. No idea what causes that.
2: An assortment of visual graphics (birds, disco balls, etc.) accompanied by numbers. Counting up to something? Seems to be when I'm moving my arm a bit, like rocking my daughter or combing my hair.

I forget what that is exactly. I think it is a motivational celebration alert that you have reached some sort of goal. Perhaps you reached your indicated number of steps. Unfortunately sometimes the device can mistake some motions like combing hair, scratching; can mistakenly be interpreted by the device as steps. So sometimes the number of steps and perhaps distance is exaggerated.

To me celebration notifications and reminders are aggravations that I wish I could turn off. As near as I can tell they can't be turned off. In my opinion it is superfluous and possibly a dangerous distraction.

@Telz @UnfitBytes777 , Thank you for keeping us updated.

The graphics (birds, disco balls, etc) you are looking at could be, as described by UnfitBytes777 , a celebration, when you reach a goal.

Those could be a goal set by you (amount of calories burnt, steps, etc) or your hourly steps (250), hourly goal.

The random vibrations, I cannot determined what can cause them if there nothing shown on the display. I assume that these are also the celebration for your goals.

Do you see anything on the display when the tracker vibrates?

See you around.

Hi Juan,

Aha! So I was trying to get rid of the 'X steps until your goal' notifications by setting my goal as low as possible, hoping I'd breeze through all the notifications while I was getting ready in the morning and then not be disturbed later in the day.

Perhaps that decision has come back to bite me, if those graphical notifications are signifying that I've met my goal (say 13 times).

I think I've quashed the progress notifications elsewhere now, so I'll try setting my step goal as high as it will let me.

The superfluous celebrations that I seemingly can't shut off seemingly have worn out the vibrator motor. So I hardly notice ever the notifications anymore. It would have a nice if I could have turned off the superfluous junk so I would still get vibration notification on my fitbit for phone calls, texts and emails that might be important.
