If your husband still has access to his account on the fitbit app then he can go into the account section of the app, select his old Charge 3 and take the option to remove it from his account. He should also check his phone's bluetooth settings and remove any link to the fitbit, otherwise it may block connection from your phone.

Then, in your app, go into the account section and select "set up a device". Choose Charge 3 and follow the prompts. This will add the fitbit to your account and keep all your data, settings, badges etc.

At this point you will have 2 trackers connected to your account. You can tidy up by selecting the Charge 2 from the devices in the account section of the app and take the option to remove it.

BTW the account section of the app is accessed from the main dashboard. If you are on the recent design of the app you get there by selecting your profile picture at the top left; if you are on the old design then you select the icon that looks like an ID card at the top right.
