How to connect Charge 2 to a new phone?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I got my son a Charge 2 for Christmas in 2016. He didn’t have a phone back then so I synced it with my iPhone. He now has a phone and we’d like to cut the connection to me/my phone and get his Charge 2 connected to him on his phone. Any ideas?

Hi @Stingray2022

Have your son sync and log out of his Fitbit account on your iPhone. If you're not using a Fitbit, then you can uninstall the app.

On his phone, have him install the Fitbit App and sign in with his usual email and password. His history will be there and he can view his dashboard.

Let us know how things go for him.

Hey @Stingray2022, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! Beside of what my friend @Odyssey13 posted above, I'd like to add that, in order for him to not have syncing issues with his Charge 2 and the new phone, please remove the bond between the tracker and your iPhone by doing this:

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth on your phone or tablet  to see a list of associated Bluetooth devices. This list might contain only your Fitbit device or also include devices like wireless speakers, headsets, etc.
  2. Tap the name of your Fitbit device and choose "Forget This Device" or "Disconnect" (exact language will differ depending on your operating system).

Keep us posted if you have further questions!

Ok but what if his ‘usual email’ was my email and we want this completely his now. He didn’t have any email when he got the Fitbit. Is there a way to set it up on a new email/password/phone?

I saw your answer to Stingray but I've got another issue.  I turned my iPhone in when I retired and now I don't have access to it.  They will probably wipe the phone clean if they haven't already so I don't have a way of logging out of that phone to start syncing with my new Android phone.  Any ideas?

Hi @Valveman0

Have you tried setting up the Android phone to use with your Fitbit? Give it a try, download the app and sign in with your usual email and password. Let us know how things go for you.

Congrats on your retirement. Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks, I've had the Fitbit app on the Android phone for a couple months and it shows me my data but won't sync.  I never thought much about it since the iPhone would sync and then the data would show up on the Android phone but now that I don't have the iPhone I can't sync at all.

I've figured it out.  My iPhone was totally wiped yesterday.  I had to take the tracker off my Fitbit account and add it back on.  Once I paired it again it is now pairing properly.  Thanks for the help!
