How to fix the band - DIY

So my 5th Charge HR band wore out again and my 1yr warranty is finally up. A 25% discount doesn't cut for a product I know for a fact won't last more than 3 months. Does anyone know of any 3rd parties that can replace the band or have any nifty ideas on how to fix it? At this point I just keep it in my pocket to track my steps but it would be nice to utilize the full functionality of the device.

The links to the videos and information about the sleeve did not work for me. I get an error message saying I am denied access.

Today is over 2 years after Logregg's message "didn't fall on deaf ears" ... only to find that it actually did fall on deaf ears. the bands are still garbage and the warranty is still only 1 year from original purchase date, despite the new band sent under warranty breaking in the exact same way in less than a year. what recourse was offered? not 25% off, no. I was told I should buy a NEW FitBit. never again. Not buying FitBit again because the quality is not there.

I am surprised about your experience with customer service.  I have called them three or four times and they have been very helpful.  My husband and I have purchased a total of seven fitbits.  So we have an occasional issue.  When my band broke, I was still under warranty and they replaced it.  However, I went to Best Buy and bought a 3rd party band that worked until the replacement came.  It was on sale for about 15 dollars.  It did not match my Fitbit but it held it on my wrist.  The Fitbit bands are made to fit!  Hope this helps.
