How to remove the strap on the Charge 3

My Fitbit Charge 3 strap has split. Still just about wearable but not for long I suspect. Able to find replacements online, but can't work out how to actually remove the Fitbit from the strap. Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the details shared about your Charge 3 inquiry. To change the band on your device, please follow these steps:

 

     1. Turn over your tracker and find the band latches—there’s one on each end where the band meets the frame.

  1. To release a latch, press down on the flat button on the strap

     3. Gently pull the band away from the tracker to release it.

     4. Repeat on the other side. If you’re having trouble or if it feels stuck, gently move the band back and forth to release it.
