When I'm not exercising, my home screen on my Fitbit Charge 3 shows the time of day and my heart rate.
When I start running, it starts auto-tracking my run, which is awesome, but the screen changes: Now it shows duration, miles, and pace, but does not show heart rate or time of day. Then, if I try to leave that screen to try to find another screen with heart rate, it requires me to "finish" the run, or return to the run tracking screen.
I just want to be able to see my heart rate on the screen *while* I'm running. Is it possible to either 1) navigate to another screen during a tracked run, or 2) make the heart rate information appear on the run tracking screen?
Stats: Fitbit Charge 3 / Samsung Galaxy S7 phone.

Solved!
Thanks for the reply. I am currently on the Charge 5. looked through the manual again and finally found it on page 38.
"4. Tap the middle of the screen to scroll through your real-time stats. To pause your workout, swipe up and tap Pause."
Silly me, I was trying to swipe left/right/up/down. These don't work except to finish the exercise. Double-tapping also doesn't bring you to the main screen as expected. it also doesn't advance the screen to the next one. (which is additionally frustrating for anyone tapping rapidly out of frustration)
Solution is to Single tap with pause after. One tap brings you from "Pace" to "Average Pace" (not a noticeable difference on screen), which might have been why I had missed it before. Additional single taps scroll through other stats, eventually leading to Heart Rate.
Thanks again for pointer and the care! glad it's figured out now!

While running simply swipe the screen left or right until you get the stat up want. Both heart rate and time are availible.

Thank you. I kept trying to hit buttons. That was the hint I needed.

I want to see my heart rate on the Fitbit at ALL times when I run. I don’t want to swipe and I don’t want to carry my phone like I do now using apps like run meter.
I am willing to buy buy an app if it is compatible with fit bit and I do own a arm band monitor called scorched.
I want to see my my heart rate constantly on my Fitbit because I am using it to hit a specific heart rate. Then I walk to 135 beats per minute then run again until 150 beats per minute.
Because these cycles if run/walk happen frequently it is cumbersome to keep swiping to find the heart rate
if an additional app can’t be purchased or if Fitbit can’t display a constant heart rate I just need to know so I can find another device. Thank you!!! Thank

In my experience, in run tracking mode, once I swipe to heart rate, the next time I look at the Fitbit, it’s still on heart rate, and I don’t have to swipe there again each time. Is yours behaving differently? Or is this about keeping the screen always-on?
(FYI I always run with my phone. I think the charge 3 relies on the phone’s gps to track the run, so I’m not sure how it would behave without the phone present.)
Or, you can change the Fitbit home screen to always display heart rate. There are several home screens to choose from, and the Heart Rate is the one I use. But that home screen is not accessible while you’re in “run tracking” mode so that would only work for you if you don’t care about tracking other run stats.

Hi,
Can I customize what I want to see when I swipe on my fit bit while running ?
For example the time comes after 3 swipes but I want that on the first swipe.
Thanks in advance.

I see a Pace screen, but swiping left/right does nothing. Swiping up lets me pause.
What am I missing here?

So @ckc19 why not mark your post as the best solution. Hint: tap the down arrow. I removed the current best answer.
