I haven't biked for awhile because of a knee injury. Now, starting again, I can't remember how to turn on the timer for my bike ride.

@Hellyshoes if you want to record your bike ride through the app. Your only choice is to vote for this option and hope that fitbit adds this option to the app.
You say you have a Charge 2
Lets
Now let's go to the Charge 2

I have a charge 2. My fitbit will track my bike ride at the beginning of each season, but then just stops. It will track for about 2 to 3 weeks, and no more. I have tried restarting my fitbit app, and also my fitbit wristband to no avail. What can I do to get my fitbit to resume and keep tracking my bike ride?

When you get the vibration telling you that the GPS has been lost, @Karen_N try a restart of the phone. At least this seems to work with Android phones.

I have an iphone. I will give that a try. I do know that I tried restarting the app, and I even tried several times to restart the fitbit wristband. The first time I restarted the wristband it worked, but only for one day. I will go on my next bike ride tomorrow, and I will let you know it his worked.

This did not fix my issue. I restarted my iphone and then rode my bike. When I got home, there was no record of my 40 minute bike ride on my app. What else can I do to make the app recognize this method of exercise?

On your Charge 2, when you start the bike recording, do you see an icon of a phone?
Eventually when the Charge 2 gets a GPS lock, the Charge 2 will and the icon drops the dashes.
The tracker gives enough info to tell the user if distance is being recorded.

This did track my bike ride, but it used to track my ride without me having to do anything with my tracker. Is there anyway that I can reactive the automatic tracker on my fitbit? I do have to admit that it was nice to see the path I took, but it also means that I have to remember to activate it. It just would be nice if at the very least it acknowledged that I rode my bike. Thanks.

While you tracker, like many other fitbit models will auto detect a bike ride. No fitbit tracker will enable GPS automatically, and without GPS their is no way to track or measure the distance the bike went.

My GPS was enabled and has been enabled for many months. Like I stated earlier, it tracked my bike ride for about 2 to 3 weeks and then just stopped. My notifications also stopped working. My tracker and my app both have notifications turned on. It is very disappointing when things just stop working.

Does the cell phone icon on the Charge 4, dieting a ride, show that the phone is connected?
After at eating the Bike recording on the charge 4, have you tried a restart of the phone?
Do you move the fitbit app to the backgroind, before the screen turns off?

I am a little confused by your suggestions. Firstly, I have a Charge 2. If you mean detecting a ride, then yes, my phone does show up on my tracker when I click on bike. I did restart the phone before I rode the bike, and it did not detect the ride. It did detect the ride when I activated the app on my tracker, but I am asking if there is a way for it to automatically track my ride like it did last month. Actually, this is a ongoing issue. Last year, it stopped tracking my bike ride, and I tried all of the suggestions, and so I just gave up. I would always forget to activate the app on my tracker. At the beginning of each biking season, it would track my ride for about 1 to 2 weeks and then just stop. This is the third year that I have experienced this disappointment without remedy. I have restarted my phone, my tracker and even removed my tracker and added it again to my app. When I did this, it would track the bike ride for a couple of days and then stop again. Oh, and I keep the app open on my phone at all times, but I do try to restart it regularly.

So, I looked back in the history of my app. It tracked my bike rides starting May 17 to July 5. I did not need to do anything to my tracker. When I rode my bike on July 6 forward, it did not track my bike rides. On Thursday July 29, I restarted my phone, my app and reset my tracker, and then on Friday I rode my bike for 8 miles at 11.7 mph. When I checked my app, there was no indication of my ride. Why did my app stop tracking my bike rides and how can I get it to track again? I know that I can click on my tracker and make it track, but it is very hard to see in the bright sunlight and I have to remember to do this. It used to track it, but not anymore why? Nothing changed on my end.

@Karen_N are you referring to tracking your bike ride and having a map?
Or you simply had a record without a map?

How do you do this in the app? My only options are run, walk, and hike.
