How to get rid of those 10 000, 20 000 steps notifications on my FC4? It's annoying... What I already did:
Reminders to move: OFF.
Main goal: Active zone minutes
Moderator edit: updated subject for clarity

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @mrfroid.
Thank you for trying to resolve the issue with your Fitbit Charge 4.
There is no option to turn off step goal notification and our team does don’t currently have plans to release this feature. If there is any change, it should be communicated in this Feature Suggestion.
If the vibration is too strong, you can adjust your tracker's vibration strength. For instructions on how to navigate your Fitbit device, please visit this article.
As an alternative, you can set a step goal that you consider that you won't reach.
If you have any question, please let us know.

I need strong vibration for other things (calls, alarms) so that's not an option. Your proposed alternative doesn't wok either - I have set my daily step goal as 100 000, but I still get notifications every 10 000 steps.

I've just been woken up by vibration announcing I've reached 10000 steps! That's after 15 minutes long nap on a train going 100 km/h 😄 That's ridiculous!

Really won't let us turn the notification off and hard set for 10k steps even if we change 🤣🤣
Very annoying. Seems like a simple fix since you let us turn other notifications off.

Hello @Topper910 and welcome to the Community. Fitbit does require you to set a Main Goal. You can set a different main goal by tapping on your profile avatar > your Charge 4 tile > Main Goal. You can, for example choose calories, then set it for an unreachable number. I'm surprised by your comment that you have a step goal that is hard set. You can customize all your goals by tapping on your profile avatar > Activity & Wellness > Daily Activity.

@LZeeW Thank you! That appears to have worked 😀 @mrfroid can confirm. Would be great to get some additional options on the device itself in the settings to get the watch to stop notifying. @EdsonFitbit Frustrations build when you go on the watch itself and change the settings to "off" for the only "notifications" option you have, and this still keeps buzzing every day. Would be great to have this as an option in the watch settings.

I have worn my new Versa 4 for only a few days. I had hoped to wear as an all the time watch. The fitness functionality is great for times of exercise, and for incorporating movement into my workday, which I truly believe would help me reach my health improvement goals.
However, the inability to manage specific notifications turns it into a constant intrusion during important meetings, which can sometimes last a half day or more, and aren’t always scheduled. I need notifications of messages and calls from emergency numbers, notifications saying yippy skippy you’ve done your steps, or you need to move a bit to meet your movement goals. Yeah thanks for that last one when my butt is already numb and molded to the chair.
Tonight I logged onto here to figure out how to manage the notifications, and found this thread. I am amazed by two things. The first is that there were only a few upvotes to mrfroid’s similar complaint. I suspect the number of people who find this incredibly intrusive to be a bit higher. The second is the moderator response from Fitbit that there is no plan to add that functionality.
And as mrfroid experienced on the train, goal reached notifications in the middle of a long sedentary session are nonsensical. I’m assuming it thinks I’m getting such great exercise keyboarding.
So instead of being able to wear this as a multifunctional e-watch that also helps me reach health goals, I will now have to take the advice of the buffoons who every time the **ahem** thing has gone off in a meeting this week have jeered to get an Apple Watch.
But you shouldn’t worry about those buffoons. You should worry though about the lost sales from the other people attending those meetings who were on the fence of what to get for themselves or someone else for Christmas. I managed to save a couple sales for you though. Not everyone does work that can’t be interrupted.
By the way, I considered your response to mrfroid to adjust the trackers vibration (no, I need to receive notifications that are important) or to set an unrealistic step goal (are you kidding me!) to be completely tone deaf and frankly disrespectful and insulting to your customer’s intelligence.
This has been a disappointing start.
Considering mrfroid started this thread a year and a half ago, and there has been no improvement since then, I am doubly disappointed I didn’t do more research before buying it. Maybe one of the kids will like it.

Hello mrfroid. I have expressed similar frustrations. Have you had any luck in the months since you first asked your question?

My last experience with Fitbit was when in May I tried to return my Fitbit Ionic during worldwide recall campaign (I had quite a few Fitbits until...). Fitbit promised to refund me in 6 weeks. Unfortunatelly even with a few angry discussions with customer service and involvement of EU level consumer rights organisation it took them... 6 months (it happened last week). So I said "enough" and now strongly advice everyone to stay away from this brand. Apple I think is a great idea for an average consumer, while I switched to Polar brand as I'm more into sports and they do amazing nightly recharge analytics and with introduction of SleepWise analytics they left Fitbit miles behind.
