I am so over Fitbit. I have been a user for a long time but recently the problems are just getting worse. I really hate that just because I am located in Japan everything is in Japanese with no option to change it!!
I had trouble last year with a screen that got lines now it has gone black and none of the solutions work!
No more. I am going with something else from now on.

Changing the language on your phone changes the language in the Fitbit app. For instructions on how to change the language on your Fitbit Charge 3, please visit this article and open the menu "How do I change the language on my Fitbit device?".
To try to resolve the issue with the lines on your Fitbit device's screen, you can perform a regular restart and if necessary a long restart:
