Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Vayito. I'm sorry to hear you can't see the info on your Charge 3 screen.

To see your Charge 3 screen again. Please restart it:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  4. Press and hold the button to restart your tracker for 8 seconds. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.

I followed the steps to restart my charge 3 but still can’t see much. It is so dimmed I only see the display when I am in complete darkness. The setting is set to normal brightness. My only other choice is AUTO. The right side of the screen is even dimmer than the left side. I have this Fitbit 3 for two years and maybe it is the end of its life.

I have the same problem with my 2 1/2 year old charge 3.  My screen has gone completely blank and I can’t restart.  It syncs ok except that I have to reconnect to Bluetooth every time and it randomly misses exercise sessions so I agree with you that it’s end of life.  I would upgrade to a 5 but that gets mixed reviews and there is a loss of some of the 3’s functionality.  Shame really I have been with Fitbit for years and I like there app.  Still cogitating on where my next move is.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @demontoire  and thanks for getting back to us @ChrisHS. Thank you for following advised troubleshooting steps and for your comments.

You can also try a long restart:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

Changing your watches clock face can also work. Check: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?

Thank you for your reply. Changing the face to a new one did not help. As for the long restart, all it does when I press the side button for 15 sec is vibrate once I see the little face and then it turns on. Nothing more.

Thanks for responding Andrea but I have tried that and it didn’t work.  It doesn’t help that the screen is blank though.  I am considering buying a Charge 4 or using my Garmin as a replacement.  I am loathe to do that as the Garmin is a lot larger than the 3.  Certainly wouldn’t buy the 5 after reading the 5 community page, the tech is too unreliable by the sound of it!
