I can't setup my Charge 2

I am about ready to return this device to the store because there appears to be a ton of glitches and not enough clear explanation on how to set up or troubleshoot. . I have a feeling I am going to waste a lot of time keeping this thing running.

Here is the issue.  I have downloaded the app. I am logged in to the dashboard.  My Surface

Pro 3 says it is connected to my Charge 2.  The dashboard says "No Devices Paired". The face of the Charge 2 says set up with a scrolling www.fitbit.com/setup banner which will not go away.

@annie128, on the App you need to open the Account screen, select Set Up a Device, and add the device to the app. If it shows it already there, tell it to replace it, and then follow the screen prompts.  Once it has completed this setup process, it will tell you there is an update for the tracker. Complete that, and you will be good to go.

My fitbit only shows the www.fitbit.com/setup message.

I have paired the device and it has requested the firmware update.

The update starts smoothly. After a minute a "!" Appears on the device screen. And the app losses it's connection to the device.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I have restarted my Samsung J5 prime. The fitbit device is fully charged

Please assist

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Stasha1!  Thanks for already troubleshooting this inconvenience you're having with your Charge 2, nice way to go!

In order to fix what you're getting on your screen, please try doing the following:

  • Log out of your Fitbit app
  • Make sure that your Fitbit app is up-to-date (Android 2.73, iOS 2.52)
  • Force quit the app
  • Restart your Charge 2
  • Turn off the Bluetooth
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes
  • Turn on the Bluetooth
  • Log back into your Fitbit app
  • Update the Firmware version of your Charge 2
  • Sync right after finishing the update

@K_Oodit Same. It's a brand new Charge 2. I've followed these steps to the letter three times now and still can't get it to set up my device. Frustrated doesn't even begin to describe how I'm feeling.

I can't set up my replacement charge 2 either. I tried all of this - except closing the app because I couldn't work out how to do that - and still nothing.  The device just shows the phone icon and the set up web address.  I turned bluetooth off on my phone & turned the phone off then on again. Still not working.  Been 3 weeks or so now. Please help?

I tried the suggestion.  I get a "Connecting to Tracker..." - but it never finishes setting up.  Thoughts?

I have tried to set up my charge 2 following your advice but it still isn’t working. I enter the pair number from the Charge 2 screen but the app fails to connect to my Charge 2. Can you help please?

I have not been able synch my Charge 2 since September 29.

I had been using it for many months with my Pixel 2 XL. Difficulties began about the time I upgraded to Android 11.

I deleted the Charge 2 from Fitbit account and from my phone.

When I try to setup a new device, I get as far as entering the pairing code shown on the Charge 2 screen. Ultimately, the connection is not made and I end up at the "Not working..." screen.

I also have tried to pair using the Fitbit app on my laptop. In this case the Charge 2 is never found.

I've attempted every fix that I could find on the Internet. Even wasted a couple of hours trying to do a factory reset, before happening on a statement that factory reset is not an option for the Charge 2!

I'd be grateful for any advice that you could provide.
