Inaccurate Calories Burned and Floors Count Charge 4

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Two days ago  I walked 8540 steps and burned a total of 2287 calories . Yesterday  I walked 13,150 steps at the same pace and was active most of the day, much more than the day before and my calories burned were 2463. My stair climbing is always at least 50 flights off.  It’s. It from opening doors or driving or different atmospheric pressure or any of the ridiculous excuses that Fitbit gives. My Fitbit only logs one walk a day any others say walk and say I burned 24 calories in a 30 min uphill walk..  that’s completely inaccurate. I’m really disappointed in this device.

Hi there @Behere. Welcome to Community Forums.

I understand how you feel about this situation. I'd recommend you restart your device.

Fitbit devices that count floors use an accelerometer and altimeter sensor to track floors. The altimeter sensor detects changes in barometric pressure to determine when you’re going up or down in elevation. The device counts one floor when it detects continuous motion combined with an elevation gain of about 10 feet.

These are possible causes for inaccuracy:

  • The device was exposed to excess moisture
  • Devices may track floors while driving, on an elevator, or in an escalator
  • Devices may track floors while doing everyday tasks such as opening doors, or from abrupt weather and atmospheric pressure changes
