Yesterday I went road cycling with my new Charge 3 but found the heart-rate measurements where horribly off by a factor of 25%.
In my opinion that's wáy too much to use the wristband as a reliable activity tracker during sports.
It also split my activity into 30min cycling and 1,5 hour 'sport'.
I was wearing my Wahoo HR Ticker at the same time and using the element to log the ride.
According to those measurements, which I fully trust now for about a year, my average heart rate was 160 where Fitbit says about 120.
I'm not expecting the FB to be as flawless as my Tickr, but this is useless for these types of sports and analysis afterwards...

Hey there @jaapoost, it's nice to see you around! Sorry to hear that you're having inconveniences with the heart rate readings on your Charge 3.
Our heart-rate tracking technology, known as PurePulse, is specially designed to give you a more complete picture of your health and fitness. As with all heart-rate tracking technology, whether a chest strap or a wrist-based sensor, accuracy is affected by personal physiology, location of wear, and type of movement.
For tips on wrist placement and how to wear your Fitbit device for best heart-rate tracking results, please see our help article: What impacts the accuracy of my heart-rate readings?
You can also try moving your device to your other wrist.
Heart rate tracking may not work with certain accessory bands, especially if they’re loose fitting. For best results, we recommend wearing a Fitbit-branded classic or sport band during exercise. For more information, see: What should I know about my heart rate data?
Hope this helps, I'll be around!

My resting heart rate is 65. Lately even while sitting my Fitbit charge 3 logs that I am at peak heart rate over 160 for 30 or more minutes. Taken manually it is amount 70 -75. I am wearing it properly as defined. What causes this inaccuracy? I bought this device for measuring my cardio and it is very inaccurate. Why? What can I do to fix this?
sporadic problem.
