For the last week my Charge 2 has been logging a crazy amount of floors. The first day it went crackers I had been up and down some steps taking photos and I just assumed it must have reacted badly to the motion. Day 2 it happened again even though I hadn't been doing anything strange - and its continued to log between 80 and 240 floors everyday since.
I've tried re starting it, I've even set it up as a new device, but its made no difference. Does anyone know if there's anything else I can try? I'd be so grateful to get this fixed.

@janey2110 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!
Let me help you with your Charge 2 over counting the floors and thank you for troubleshooting this issue.
Your device uses it's altimeter to detect variance in altitude. It will count 1 floor for every 10 ft it detects you climbed. There are situations that may affect the floor count like stormy weather (that has an actual impact on atmospheric pressure), gusts of wind, an AC unit in a closed room or opening a door. I suggest you start by cleaning the back of the device with cotton and rubbing alcohol then use compressed air at a distance to clear the altimeter's opening (check the image for reference). Finally restart it.
Let me know how it goes.

Thanks you so much! I didn't have any compressed air until today but did give it all a through clean with alcohol as you suggested and that helped (logged a lot less floors although still not accurate) but after using the compressed air and restarting today, it does seem to be behaving itself again. Delighted,! Thanks again.
