Indoor rowing on Charge 2 - how can I replicate?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have done a search and I know there is no exercise shortcut for the Charge 2 for Indoor Rowing.

been suggested for years  - see here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Stationary-Rowing-Machine-Exercise-Shortcut/idc-...

anyway, what I want to know is has anyone found an existing exercise that will at east record my heart rate (avg, max etc) when I am rowing?

  • Workout?
  • Treadmill?
  • Elliptical?
  • Interval Workout?
  • ????

or do I have to log stuff somehow and then do a manual activity log?

@CardiganWearer  A warm welcome to our Community!

Let me help  you with your activity recording. If you use the workout option you should get the heart rate reading from the period you are recording. Please try this option to see how the data is presented after it.

Let me know how it goes.

I've been entering it as a run, and getting 2-3 steps per stroke and a relatively decent heart rate measurement when I do that. It's not perfect but I find it's a reasonable substitute. FYI I've compared my Fitbit HR to the numbers I get when I wear my Suunto HR strap and connect it to the rowing machine. The Fitbit almost always comes in low.

@SFuhrmann

thanks. my HR does seem to go off accuracy from time to time. I never regard any metric as accurate and look at the trend as the important piece of info.

normally I am a regular runner so don't want to use that one as my activity log might look confusing.

@AlvaroFitbit

thanks. Workout would be the1st one to try I guess. Just thought I would see what others have used to see their experience.
