Irregular heart rhythm notifications: Why are users with a history of irregularities excluded?

It would seem that a person (moi) with a history of atrial fibrillation (AFib) would be able to benefit from this feature more than most people. Why exclude us?

Are they excluded, how would fitbit know who is susceptible to AFIB?

Currently Fitbit is rolling this feature out to America. The user has no control on when they will be offered.

Fitbit knows who has been diagnosed simply with AFib simply because when you try to set up the feature, it asks you a yes-or-no question: “Have you ever been diagnosed with AFib?” If you say yes, you are excluded. I suppose, of course, I could lie! … But maybe the feature is not designed to be accurate with people who already have AFib. And I would get false alarms. Still, I wonder why.
