I received my Charge 3 for Christmas and couldn’t wait to get it out of the box. Christmas Day I noticed I had over 7K steps and to say I was shocked would be an understatement since I didn’t start wearing the device until around 11AM and the steps had registered by 7PM and the only movement at that time was basting a turkey in the oven, driving to my destination, setting food on the table and moving from the dining room to the family room. 🙄
Yesterday, I was out running errands and noticed by about 3PM I’d racked up over 8K steps. Majority of my day consisted of sitting at the car dealership and browsing around Michaels and Target. If I’d had on my Versa, I know I would have only had about 3K - 5K steps which for me would have been accurate because it was a very lazy day.
I’ve searched the forum (and topics) and have noticed so many posts expressing their dissatisfaction with the Charge 3 due to the inaccuracies which has me wondering if anyone is actually satisfied with their unit. I’ve had the zip, Charge, Charge 2, Flex 2, Ionic and Versa so I’m thinking I just ended up with a faulty unit (in defense of Fitbit, I purchased my unit at Target and when I opened the box I noticed how everything just fell out, almost as if it was a returned unit) and am considering swapping it out for another.

Not a great product. Very unreliable. Worked well for about 6months and then became unresponsive. Got it working again but again sporadically stops being responsive.

It seems to lose the steps and exercise when it syncs. Yesterday after my walk it showed 13,840 steps. Then it syncs and all of a sudden shows 8,889 steps and takes out the exercise and shows no walk or exercise or time. I have one to keep up with friends which is the only cool part of this the other ones don't have but what's the point if it won't work properly.

I am having your exact problem with data that once showed up disappearing or step number being rolled back after syncing. It has really gotten bad in the last 2 weeks or so. I have posted several times but have never had nor seen any acknowledgment from the company to posts reporting similar problems.

No, I am not satisfied with it. Have had it 18 months, it’s my first Fitbit product and will be my last. Here are my complaints.
1. Received it as gift -my husband chose Charge 3 because it tracks swimming. Only very difficult to do. It’s not automatic- you have to swipe thru Exercise. And it’s always inaccurate by 3-6 laps. Will say odd number but I get in and out of pool at same end so it has to be an even number. Frequently it cuts out of the swim mode after a few minutes.
2. Inaccurate on steps as others have noted. Wildly overstates steps.
3. Sleep function is useless. It says I’m asleep any time I am laying down!
4. impossible to read in sunshine so hard to start and stop Bike and Swim functions.
Piece of crap if you ask me. I should have returned it when still under warranty but did not want to hurt my husband’s feelings!

I'm getting so tired of this **ahem**. Just now GPS failed during a bike ride. I checked, my phone connected to the satellite instantly, so it's definitely an issue with the C3. I'm still within my 100 day return window, this may just be the limit of what I can take.
The problem is: what's the alternative (non-Fitbit)? I've got very slender wrists, a watch is usually too large.

Fitbit should be ashamed of themselves my Fitbit 3 just quit working. I decided not to sleep in it Thurs night which it was working fine. When I got up the next day it doesnt light up anymore and stuck on smiley face. I have other products so I had to go back to my Fitbit 2. Wonder why it still works after sitting in the drawer for awhile. I will not buy this product anymore I am so done. I have had many fitbit product they all still work today. Fitbit 3 how can it be dead! I am so mad right now!!

Mine been fine last year seems to be accurate enough although I think they are never 100% accurate. Definitely have had more problems with it turning off and on more than accuracy.

Count me as another person who would never trust a Fitbit device. On to my second warranty claim in 5 months, and I will never buy another Fitbit product. And I will tell everyone what poor quality their product was. It is such a huge mistake to put such a poor quality product in the market, as Fitbit’s brand Is damaged.
I’m someone who is prepared to pay more for better quality, but After this experience, I wouldn’t trust that any device from Fitbit would be acceptable quality.

The Charge 3 is a huge POC (piece of crap)! I had a Blaze previously for 3 years until it died. My Charge 3 is less than a year old and I can barely read the screen on the high lux setting. Looking at it in the dark I can barely read it. Oh, and the moderators on this thread are also POC. They treat you like they are all that and think they know everything. Whatever dude. I've been in IT for 38 years and not quite a notice at this IT thing, but ya'll failed with this device. Time for yet another trade in due to inferior engineering.
