It's not on the list of supported devices at www.fitbit.com/devices

However, this could mean either that it doesn't work with fitbit or just that it hasn't yet been tested. Hopefully someone with that phone will confirm either way.

How far through the setup are you getting before you hit a problem?

My phone locates the fitbit, the fitbit generates a code, I put the code into the app on my phone, it says it's connecting for ages and then says it was unable to do do, asks if I want to try again.

That's usually the point where incompatible phones hit a problem.

If yours is on the supported list then I would try restarting it using the following procedure:

I got a XA1 for my Christmas to replace my XA. On my XA I had a Flex2 and Charge 2 HR synced to my account. For some reason, perhaps being in the swimming pool too long on Christmas eve my Flex2 stopped syncing with the XA around 17.25 on same day. The Flex2 is supposed to be waterproof and set up for swimming but had already been replaced because of a battery issue.

On Christmas day I installed the fitbit app on my new XA1 and managed to sync my Charge 2 HR but was unable to sync my Flex2. This may be because it is not compatible with the XA1 or as a fault occurring the previous evening.

I have been in touch with Fitbit support but it looks like I will have to buy a different waterproof fitness tracker to be able to sync with the XA1.

Many thanks to the trouble shooters at Fitbit who have just sent me an email with a couple of ideas to get my Flex2 working again. After putting it on charge and pressing a small button on the bottom of the charger a few times it is now syncing perfectly with my XA1. At least now I know the Charge 2 HR and Flex2 are compatible with my phone.

Cheers again Fitbit tech support.

I have a Sony xperia XA 1 ultra and got a fitbit alta HR yesterday. The set up was made alot easier by this community btw, thanks. But also, on topic, the phone seems compatible as everything is set up on the app and running smoothly so far. I think perhaps some phones are compatible, but have not been tested and updated. I was quite frustrated at first when reading about fitbit being compatible with certain andriods only after spending so much on a device. But alls well that ends well right.

It's great to hear about new mobile phones and Fitbit products being compatible. The technology advances but not always at the same pace. I found that reading comments on the forum and getting helpful emails from Fitbit support department helped sort out the issue I had. Communication is a great thing 🙂

@sredder Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Sorry to hear that your tracker isn't syncing with your phone. While your phone isn't listed as a compatible device it doesn't necessarily mean that you can't use it with your tracker. Please try these suggestions and then try to setup your tracker.

Let me know how it goes!

@sredder thank you for checking with the store. You still didn't mention if you tried the suggestions I linked in my previous post. There are other members that have been able to use different Sony phones like mentioned in this thread. Please try the suggestions I mentioned to see if this helps. Also the Fitbit app does work with many phones running Android 8.

I look forward to your reply!
