My Fitbit will arrive tomorrow 😀. My first one! A week earlier as expected. I haven’t ordered a screen protector yet. What is your experience with the game Gorrila Glass screen? Would you not use it until the screen protector has arrived? Unfortunately I cannot get the Ace Shield. They do not ship to the Netherlands and I cannot find an email address.

I got my Charge 3 yesterday. I've already managed to scrape paint off a couple of doorways with it (I'm packing up for a move). Not a scratch on the Charge.
I did have to use a piece of paper to get a few paintchips out from between the screen and the bezel, though. But I'm impressed by the durabillity of the screen.

Shouldnt scratch too easy but some people report these screens do, personally i always use a screen protector and i use screenknight on my charge 2 and ionic, they dont peel off over time and do a great job of protecting the device

I was of the same mindset when I ordered the Charge 3, as it is my first Fitbit. (Aside from the Aria 2 scale.)
Then I found out about the Gorilla Glass 3 screen and did some research. After watching a video where someone absolutely tries to scratch a phone with a Gorilla Glass 3 screen (and doesn't succeed) I decided that nothing I subject my Fitbit to through normal use would even come close to scratching it. Therefore, I concluded that a screen protector would be a waste of money for this device.

I have never ever in all my life seen a screen that doesn't get scratched, and easily at that, including all manner of Gorilla glasses and what not.
To prove a case in point: My most recent experience is with a Huawei phone that I purchased recently. I also bought a case with a flap. My reasoning was that while it's a bit troublesome to use I wanted extra protection from scratches. I kept the phone in it's case and in my pocket (with nothing else) and wiped the screen clean twice a day. So, after 4 days of overly careful use and it's already scratched up. Turned out my precautions were all in vain.
You will definitely get scratches as we've not yet invented screens made out of diamonds. Scratches simply cannot be avoided with the current tech. But life goes on.

I'm not going to make the claim that Gorilla glass can't be scratched. However, I disagree with your claim that it can be scratched easily. On the hardness scale, Gorilla Glass 3 is harder than a LOT of metals. It's also far more scratch resistant than a lot of screen protectors. I'm not sure what Gorilla Glass 3 example you've seen that can be easily scratched, but I would welcome any evidence that I could review. That may have been true about Gorilla Glass and Gorilla Glass 2, but I haven't seen anyone easily scratch something using Gorilla Glass 3. (And I watched a LOT of videos online before deciding not to bother with a screen protector. All of my phones and my Nintendo Switch has one.)
After doing my own research I don't feel that I need a screen protector based on the data and tests I've found involving Gorilla Glass 3. Does that mean I'm taking a gamble? Of course. But unless my wrist ends up slamming really hard against a really hard object, I should be okay. And even then, all research seems to indicate that the aerospace aluminum on the sides of the screen would be damaged easier than the screen itself.

I purchased my Charge 3 two days ago. It's been years since I've worn a watch, wasn't even thinking of it, when I was squeezing my arm underneath my bed's oak headboard to reach an electrical outlet. Sadly, the process left two small scratches on the watch face.

Did your wrist catch something metal under there? I just find it odd that wood would scratch the watch face when there's videos all over YouTube of people taking an actual knife to Gorilla Glass 3 and not leaving a single mark.
But if there was some kind of metal there I could maybe see it. Gorilla Glass 3 is harder than a lot of metals, but not all of them.

I have had my Charge 3 for a week . I can see a small scratch at 3 o'clock and a smudge about 2mm at 11 pm. Not sure how these arrived, but noticed that I catch the fitbit on my back pack when I take my arms / wrist out of the straps of the bag. I seem to get about 18 months out of these devices before the fall a part. They look nice when new but become tatty after a few months. Nothing built to last these days...

I banged the hell out of the face of my fitbit on the sharp corner of a stainless steel rack. Thought for sure it had to be cracked. I was scared to look. I just knew nothing could survive that strong of an impact and not be shattered much less scratched. To my great surprise, nothing! Not a scratch or crack. After that, I don't believe any of you saying you scratched it with normal wear and tear.

DEFINITELY use a screen protector. I’ve had mine for just over a month and it has scratches on it, a result of normal daily use. Honestly don’t even know how the scratches appeared. Customer support has no capacity to repair or replace these screens, either.

Why did you smack it so hard? Are you a psychopath?

I got my Charge 3 for Christmas, set it up on 12/27, then tripped and fell on New Year’s Eve (no drinking involved!) on a brick path. So, after just five days of use, I now have a series of scratches across the upper third of the face. Gorilla glass 3 definitely scratches. Bummed.

I received mine for Christmas and already have a small scratch just above the “b” in Fitbit and don’t know how I got it. Going to get a zagg screen protector today or tomorrow. I am not sure why Fitbit doesn’t ship these with a screen protector.

Yep. Definitely scratch-able. Got it for Xmas, and already has a fairly deep scratch on the screen.
It was handling shoveling snow, hiking, moving firewood, and gym workouts, but got a good cut when I took it off at the doctor's office.
Get a screen protector: the videos showing it being indestructible are not even close to what a proper QC/QA process would put it through to determine how resilient it actually is.

Definitely scratchable! My fitbit charge 3 got a vertical scratch top to center of the watch face within 24 hours of wearing it- and I wasn't doing anything very vigorous the entire day. Am awaiting the screen guards I ordered- until then am wearing a tennis arm band on the Fitbit!

I have to say I am a bit disappointed. I bought my Charge 3 late November and already have s few abrasions on the screen. I switched from a Polar device, which only got scratched when I moved furniture after 2 years of wearing. There is an opportunity for improvement here in my opinion.

I got a charge 3 for my nirthday on the 26th of march. It is the 6th of April and there is a 6mm long scratch that is deep and appeared in the shower this morning and i hadn't evenbumped it against anything (wasnt there before I got in but was there when i took it off to dry it). Taking it to where I bought it because that shouldn't happen
