What is the text font size of the Charge 4? Is it adjustable? How does it compare too the Charge 2?

I loved my Charge 2 but it finally quit. The Charge 4 has many great features but I can’t read any notifications. The font is microscopic. I may take a look at Apple’s watch.

Well I had a charge 2 before and I could read notifications on it just fine but not on my new Charge 4.
I concur. Hoping I can still return mine.

I just bought one at target...it’s on hold for me to pick up until Tuesday. I have an inspire HR but like others I am now over 50 land cannot read any text on the device other than the time. Based on what I have read here I don’t think I’ll pick it up. I also cannot find any info comparing font size between the 2 devices.

I went from the Charge 2 to the 4 and I would say the text size for notifications is about half. Too small to read easily - on the Charge 2 I could read texts and see who was calling without pulling out my phone. It’s not too big of a deal but it would be nice to be able to adjust it so it’s the same size as on the Charge 2. I selected the Charge 2 clock face so reading the step count and time is no problem.

Same here
It is way smaller! I'm returning mine.
Yep. Its ridiculous
I am so bummed. Got this for Christmas and can't read the messages. Why would they have made it so small?

I am not able to read messages, because I need glasses for reading. I don't always have them on because they're only for reading. Which makes that incredible part of the charge for unusable much of the time. Please update the system to be able to increase the font size. the clock faces do show bigger font sizes, why is that not set up for messages as well?

I couldn't agree more with many replies. The font is very small. I am a runner and a biker, but I can only read notifications with my reading glasses on. I just bought my Fitbit Charge 4 and looking forward using it for all kind of activities. My 3 years old Samsung Samsung Gear Fit 2 and it has all those settings and adjustments. I truly hope Fitbit will come up with Notifications Font Size settings.
Thanks and Happy New Year!

are you reconsidering this yet? So many dissatisfied customers, me included. I can't read mine at all without putting my readers on, and who wants to do that while running?

Yes, it is rather sad. So many rave reviews on internet by all kind of "experts", but I find it so difficult to read. The screen has "dim and "normal" settings for brightness and this is also not enough. I would go for brighter and charge device more often. My 3 years old Samsung Gear Pro 2 is slightly bigger, bulkier, but it has all those features. Including font size and I was able to read few first words of the email or a message and make a proper decision. And the screen on Samsung is really bright and therefore readable. The battery was getting weak and I thought to replace it with "best" sport-band. I do regret..

Hi Lizzy. Ever since the shift from charge 2 to 3 in 2018 and since to charge 4 the same issue around font size for notifications has been raised. I have a functioning 2 and bought a 3 to get more features - longer battery life and water resistant - but it’s completely useless for notifications. I can only conclude that either Fitbit is not listening to its customers or it does not have the technical capacity to deliver - but seriously how hard is it ! I can understand a misstep with the 3 but to release a 4 with the same known problem is bluntly - dumb. The specs of 3 and 4 may as well state “ no notifications option” as it is essentially not usable. If Fitbit won’t / can’t fix this then users will inevitably switch to other brands. A fix for 3 and 4 long over due. Release a 5 with the same problem and the end is certain.

No, your team doesn't listen. The small font was a problem on the Inspire HR and this was reported many times. Now the Charge 4 has the same issue??? How is that listening??

The font size is such a major flaw! Extremely small and uncomfortable to read. Sadly, returning my fitbit Charge 4.

I gave up after trying for about 6 months, during summer months I realized that I no longer react to Fitbit buzzing as I can't see what is written anyway. Especially on a sunny days. One can use it only indoors with low light or during night time. Sadly. In Asia I bought cheap Huawei band 6 for $60CAD ($50USD) with 1.47" Super bright amoled display. I can finally see email/whatsup/phone call notifications without reading glasses. It is rather a shame that Fitbit cannot resolve such a simple issue and just ignoring users with impaired vision. I will donate my Fitbit to anybody with 20/20.

This is why I can't buy any new Fitbit products. I don't want to pull out reading glasses every time I want to look at my Fitbit. It's a real shame.

I wish I had found this thread before I went from my Charge 2 to the 4. Font is ridiculously small. I think I’ll be putting up with broken strap, and using the 2 again.
