Does anyone know if there is an app that can be used for a Fitbit that is not the one made by Fitbit? I've tried over and over to get my Fitbit to sync with multiple phones to no avail. Any suggestions?

@jmwaidel, I am not aware of any "alternative apps" for the Fitbit trackers, you do not say if you successfully set up your Charge HR on a phone. You indicate you have multiple phones to use - if so, check the Compatible Devices list to find one that is listed as compatible and then set your tracker up on that phone. You should then be good to go.

@jmwaidelDid you find a solution? After the fitbit app update my fitbit Alta HR does not sync anymore. Customer support says it is because I have a device that is not supported. The website lists Moto G as a supported device I have Moto G5 and still doe snot work.
It used to work fine for 11 months until the last update.

Lots of phones no longer work with fitbit after last app update. They're going to lose a lot of loyal customers after this latest screwup.

I gave up & went back to version 2.4. It synced in less than 20 seconds. I much prefer this version anyway. So does my battery!!!

I wish I could go back to the previous app version. Fitbit really messed up and wont take responsibility.
Thank you

The same thing happened with mine. I have an LG 30. My Alta HR and my Flex trackers worked fine. Neither one of them will sync since the last fitbit update. I wish we could undo the update. It's caused nothing but problems.
How did you go back to the previous version? I'd love to be able to do that. This latest version is junk.

My Charge HR takes an infernal age to sync these days. It either can't find my device - a Huawei P8 Lite - or it just sits there trying to sync for 5-10 minutes. Then sometimes it does sync up and eventually show my data. Very frustrating and time wasting. It's a good thing I seldom use the Fitbit now. Too buggy from the get-go, 4-5 years ago. Perhaps their server is struggling to accommodate all the millions of devices worldwide trying to sync at the same time. It's a pity they didn't let the devices just sync locally with the app, then maybe update the server in background mode. The same problem would occur I guess. A great family of devices - when they work!

How can I get back to that version? Mine autoupdated and now it won't since again. What's the point in a device with all the functionality to show texts, calls, etc if it never works after an update. Really hating Fitbit now! 😡

They have been blaming customers that paid hundreds of dollars for the syncing issues since as far back as 2014 (seen on fitbit forums).
Even though the vast majority have tried the troubleshooting advice offered by fitbit.
The issue seems to be for various trackers so must be the application itself.

How do I delete my old Fitbit from my account before adding Fitbit it to my account?

Go into 'Accounts' in the app and hit + add device. It will say "whoa - there is already a device registered.." or words to that effect. It then asks if you want to delete that device profile, which I guess you do. Try deleting it see if you can add a device again from scratch.
Sorry if you have already solved this issue.

Just being nosey but are you talking about the USB radio that you plug into a USB port on your PC? If your PC has Bluetooth built in, you don't need the dongle/radio. I appreciate not all PC's have Bluetooth onboard.

How did you manage to go back to an earlier version?

well, what I did was I completely ignored my watch. I made myself to not bother about trying to sync Fitbit charge 4 with my Lenovo tablet. And tada! after a week or so, it began syncing automatically. since then it was able to sync continuously without my assistance. well, they are artificially intelligent so maybe I hurt its feeling by ignoring it lol.
