Is there a list of all the possible activities?

Hi I was wondering if there is a list of all the possible activities that the charger HR can track or that I could log? For example, I tried searching for "strength training" before finding the option of logging "weights" instead. This type of guess and check can be a bit time consuming and it would be nice to have an idea of what type of "activities" the charger HR is capable of responding to. Thank you!

Hello my friend, @MilenaC! Welcome to the family! Heart The exercises that are tracked automatically by your tracker are:

  • Walking
  • Running
  • Outdoor biking
  • Elliptical

It also recognizes two general categories:

  • Sport: which includes movement sports like tennis, basketball, soccer and others, golf might not be recognized.
  • Aerobic workout: which includes aerobic activities with continuous movement, such as Zumba, cardio-kickboxing and other dance classes.

Now when it comes to the activities that you can log a lot of activities, by just entering the first letter of the exercise it will display a list like the image below, since you have a Charge Hr you can put it into activity mode when you are exercising and stop it when you finish, finally sync your tracker and rename the activity to the correct one, this will provide the accurate caloric information during your workout.

@MilenaC you can also create activities to put on that second list, below.  @SolangeE I have a question:  the activities that one creates, will those also be able to be synced and put into activity mode as you describe?  Thanks very much.

Please add Pickle Ball to the list of possible activities.  It is popular in warmer areas of the country, but becoming more popular everywhere, because it can be played indoors.  It is very vigorous, but easier on the joints than tennis or squash.

Adding pickleball is a great suggestion.  Is there an area on the site where a list of all preset activities are listed so we don't have to scroll through the alphabet? Also, sometimes there are activities we might not consider excercise that should be added as activities ☀  Happy trailse

Hey, @rfc1995! Anytime! Man Happy

@paso, Thanks for letting me know that you haven't been able to log your activities. I really don't understand what problem are you having when you try to log. Can you please explain me so I can further assist you?

To answer your second inquiry. Yes, there is an area where your favorite activities will be saved. This is how it looks on the online dashboard and if you are using a mobile device, just start typing in the name and you will see the option below.

And the activities that you don't consider exercise like in the previous list. Is also included there because even if it doesn't require much energy you are constantly burning calories and if you do it everyday for example, it does impact the calories in vs out. However you could add your suggestion

@coopmindy, Pickle Ball sounds very nice and fun! You can add your suggestion in this sectionHeart

I have no idea how someone was able to add pickle ball—or any activity—to a Fitbit. I cannot find any mechanism for doing so.

@coopmindy, see the post above by @SolangeE on 3/15 on how to do this.

How do I create custom activities? I want to log my Pole Fitness class or at least Pole Dance! 😀

  • Even if I can add activities, I do not know how many calories for my weight.  I would love for you to expand the list. Boxing is an example.  When I Box with a partner, I do not expend as much energy as when I continually punch the bag.  There also is no calories for exercising on the mat, such as dead bugs, sit ups, and planks.

@jen_fisher18 @naburk  Add custom activities. Use work out  mode for things not listed and change the name after  it sync. You can find it at the bottom of the actively page

In my charge 3 this list is no longer available. Not when trying to adjust an automatically recognized activity but also not when I try to add an activity manually. The search field does not work, nothing turns up  on "tennis", "driving" etc etc. Am I missing a checkbox somewhere or is it a bug? Thanks for helping me.
