Thanks for the reply. Not being able to turn it off is not good for people are in certain areas.

It would be great to get the ability to disable Bluetooth so that the device can be approved for government use in certain buildings where it currently cannot. People are instead buying older or less robust models that either don't have transmitters or at least ones that have an option to disable.

So just to confirm, the Fitbit is constantly transmitting Bluetooth, even though it’s a very low power output, regardless of any settings on my phone?

Wouldn't that require bluetooth to be rendered permanently inoperable? Leaving it user configurable wouldn't meet the security objectives of those kinds of environments.

In these environments, I'm guessing phones, laptops, tablets, speakers, headphone and even some watches are not allowed? Unless they are allowed once the bluetooth is switched off.

Yes the fitbit is constantly pumping bluetooth. I have an EMF reader and the fitbit even with HR off, notifications off, sync off, still keeps transmitting.
My concern is health, yes BT on fitbits is very low, however the EMF reader spikes high when held close, the spiked reading are almost twice a second constantly.
Fitbit's are kept close on the body for VERY LONG periods of time.
Please make an on/off button or a feature within the app. At least for the next generation of devices.

Normal, I just bought a Fitbit versa 3 and downloaded an EMF reading app for Android. The EMF exposure was ok in all parts of the building and electronic devices but it skyroked on the versa 3. I am now in between returning the item to Amazon or starting a legal complain for the exposure to extreme high EMF I have been exposed so far.

Just the opposite problem here - - My Fitbit Charge 3 bluetooth is turned off - - somehow and I cannot figure out how to turn it back on. Using the app - - trying to do anything - I just get an error notice that the bluetooth is off - on the Charge - - it is on my PC Windows 10. How do I turn the Bluetooth back on. I did restart the Charge 3. No change.

Me too, I need to turn the Bluetooth completely off in the tracker itself. Not only for government and restricted buildings and labs, but also for the increasing health concern of sleeping with long-term exposure to radiation even if it's small.

What is the meaning of 'needs to be done on the phone' Wendy ? We are already reading that Fitbit pumps out Bluetooth even when all the syncing is Off - AND IT GETS QUITE HIGH IN COMPARISION TO SIMILAR DEVICES.
Did you mean something else ?

It is shocking to say the least that a Company wanting its devices to be worn 24/7 AND is touting the monitoring of good health as its business, would prefer to look the other way when its devices pump out Bluetooth all the time even when it is not required.

I really don't see the point why Bluetooth could not be turned off on the device. I just bought an Inspire 2 hoping to monitor my sleep pattern. Why I need All-day sync for this purpose? It wastes energy and may be harmful to health. If I know beforehand, I won't buy it at all.

Is Fitbit currently working on something like this?
